Turkey’s undisputed tourism capital, Antalya, is beloved by Turks and foreigners alike, and you can see why. The city has persevered its charm despite growing into one of the biggest cities in Turkey, providing a staggering range of options to visitors. Despite its pretty old town, excellent history museums, and proximity to the ruins of some of the classical world’s most important cities, Antalya is a relatively new addition, having been founded a mere 2100 years ago, before being built up by the Romans, who made it the most important port city in the area for thousands of years. Today it is the best place to see a ‘real’ Turkish city while experiencing a full range of tourism options.
