Antayla Airport Turkey (AYT) | TOUR & TOP TIPS 2023 

Used this airport the other day. Its a little more relaxed than last year. My only grip was there is hardly anywhere to sit and wait. Huge airport., but, compact departure area with gates next to each other. The 3rd level of security at the gate, is paid for by the British government as an extra layer. You only get this on uk flights. Last year, my first trip through was a bit more stressful but now, in 2024, seems a little smoother. All this said, the staff and police and passport control are all very helpful and friendly enough. Apart from the small depsrture area, i think its a good airport.

With the final gate security check where your bags are checked again, your boarding pass is checked also just before which seemed to take a while going through a list, then boarding pass and passport check again before going over the bridge to the plane. Had it not been for the breakdown of the checkin system on Sep 13th 2023 around 20:00 our transfer time would have allowed plenty of time to be relaxed. We still had enough time to get a kebab meal and eat it quite quickly before going straight to the gate

Great video Carla. I always use the CIP meet and greet service which has no lines at all. Glad to see the other areas of this airport.

It’s the same at Dalaman with the checks. The check at the gate is random. We usually wait until last and they’ve usually finished by then and just let us through. We’ve just been to Sharm rl Sheikh and the checks there are even more thorough.

Omg the airport is tiny!! Me and my family ended up sitting on the floor next to the VIP lounge (it was 70 euros to get in!!)

Also to tell anyone, on the upper floor where the lounge is there are also more restaurants such as popeyes and burger king! 😁 Great video btw flying in 6 weeks

Does anyone know if you can sit and have a coffee in arrivals, Single woman travelling and arrive at 2am in the morning. Instead of booking an expensive airport hotel. I was going to wait it out for a few hours in arrivals, but not sure what to expect, if I can sit and at least have a coffee that would be good to know…….??? Thanks

Thanks for the heads up on the airport, We have been here before but it was about 15 years ago,Cant remember all the security checks but been to Dalaman Airport a few times to stay at the Hilton and we certainly remember those checks, Pain in the neck that they are.! Think we will book the lounge for our return as hubby not in the fittest form and cant stand for too long now. Can i ask, Do you just walk in to book it there and then or does it have to be pre booked? Also, Any idea on the price of it please? 😁

All went to Alanya lovely got to Antalya airport was like a cattle mart got to hotel late on way home long journey to Antalya airport on couch got to airport got luggage checked checked in got up stairs the the stress was terrible I was scared all process then down more stairs Tui reps not in sight to help got to gate flight to Newcastle delayed thunder storms all night at 10pm put us on plane Peter got swobbed Tui plane was delayed further hour tar Mac was flooded I felt sick with been chewed up with Peter Goiing on on like a kid finally took off in lightening and tunder finally after 5 hour flight we got to Newcastle so Antalya not for me no more my regards Wayne xx
