Great question. Before Anthem we would say Allure hands down because of the neighborhoods, and just the variety of things to do and shows to watch. But Anthem was such a great experience that we have to pause and really think before we can answer. If I can book either for the same price and ports then I will book Anthem, but if ports or price is better for Oasis or Allure, then we may go to them. Short answer, Anthem has done a wonderful job with bumper cars, North Star, staff and the food quality that it’s competing with the mega ships

We have done most cruises on Carnival but right now our favorite is Royal Caribbean

@deenasmith9193, first of all thank you for your feedback, we love it. Khiz and Eesa have tried camps on many cruise ships and I believe Anthem and Allure of the Seas were their favorite. To the point where they asked to go to the camp each night between 7-10. This allowed us Dinner and show time as a couple. The draw to the camp was the staff and the games and activities they planned for the kids. Because we hung out with the kids remaining of the day, I think they also appreciated some time around other kids doing activities. Khiz even won a Royal Caribbean hat as a prize in the camp. First of all, Bon Voyage! Kids did great, but this was their 10th cruise so they know their way around. Overall Anthem has a lot more activities. We recommend on embarkation day, head straight to Bumper cars cause it’s empty and you can keep going on it. Hope this helps

Hello, this is the wife 😉 so thank you for the compliment. We enjoyed Anthem of the Seas more than Oasis class ships (we have been on Allure of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas), very similar to Oasis of the seas. In short you can’t go wrong with either but we absolutely LOVED Anthem of the Seas for all the amenities, activities, the excellent food, and the size. Just big enough for a 7-8 day cruise. Hope this helps and happy sailing!

Interesting question. Yes from a ship, amenities and layout perspective it should be exactly the same. The food and menu may adjust based on the sailing, the head chef and itinerary. So yes, it should look exactly as our experience

Hi, thank you for watching our video and your feedback. The new way to do the safety briefing is very quick. When we got to our room at 1pm, we opened the app and watched a 3 minute video on safety. Then we went to the designated area where the staff was waiting for us to acknowledge in person that we watched the video. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes. As someone who have been on 25+ cruises, this was by far the most efficient and quick experience. Not sure if other cruise companies have adapted but we have a MSC and Carnival cruise coming up this year so will post more videos of those experiences

Hi Gianna ASMR, thank you for your feedback. Yes we took the same ship and itinerary. If you need WI-FI, we highly recommend to purchase it now for the best price. The signal is very good in the room and around the promenade, enough to watch RU-vid and surf online. I did try uploading 6GB of photos and videos and it took more than 16 hours so it was slow from that point of view.

Hi Amanda, in Dec 2022, we waited less than 30 mins combined in both Security and check in line. It was very quick and smooth. Sorry to hear about the long wait time you went through.

For us, it is expensive anywhere between $200-$300 but it was quick and cheaper than UBER back and forth

We have experienced same number of formal nights on a 7 day cruise as well. This was our 25th cruise, 17 of those were on Carnival as well. We hope you love your experience with Royal Caribbean as much as we did. And you also picked a great ship to try Royal Caribbean. We absolutely LOVED Anthem of the Seas. @adafan495 Excellent question. We boarded the ship 11:30am and because of times entry we found the check in and boarding smooth, fast and less crowded. After hanging out in Windjammer for 2 hours, around 1:30am, a lot more tables were busy but there was still room to sit. In short, we found Anthem of the Seas one of the bests onboarding experiences we have had cruising

Good question, yes the navigation took us directly to the Port. We searched Google Maps for “Cape Liberty Cruise Port”, and result was 4 Port Terminal Blvd, Bayonne, NJ 07002. Hope this helps

@@KhizEesa go to the "how we cruise " youtube channel and watch the video called "we got trapped on the way to the ship" same thing happened to me when. I went to see the port since I live 20 minutes away

Parking is extra at The port. We paid ~$20 per day to park there.

Hi @foleyexploring, good question on the sofa bed. It’s a sofa cushion with a mattress topper on top. It’s is definitely not as Comfortable as their king bed but it worked just fine for kids. As three adults on a transatlantic, you may want to request the room attendant to double the mattress topper. Hope this helps

@foleyexploring ask for an egg crate topper for your sofa pullout bed. My son and I slept on that while my mom and aunt had the bed and it was super comfortable. It was about a 3" topper.

Sure. We departed from Bayonne NJ on Anthem of the Seas for 8 nights to Port Canaveral Orlando, Miami, Nassau Bahamas and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day CocoCay. We booked this cruise a year in advance and paid $2k for 4 in one Balcony Stateroom for a Holiday cruise. Hope this helps!

Parking is paid and frankly speaking expensive. I believe we paid $250-$300 for our vacation

Hi @christinad2611 No, you drive to the parking garage, get a ticket and simply park. On your return you can either pay at a machine or just drive out and there will be people helping you with the payment at the exit gate.

It is approximately $20 per night. There is another parking garage close to this but more cheaper although their online review is bad from what we remember
