Well, if he downpaid while he was making money the money is in the home and so… yeah, not necessarily rich in terms of income these days, but of course. If he sold his homes he’d have money to buy a decent place somewhere cheaper.
Compound may or may not make 1 mil per year. But one thing's for certain~ If Greg Opie Hughes was 40 again and had to survive without Ant in the current entertainment YT/casting environment, he would be pulling down around $50-80k/yr max and probably needing a sidegig, to even make that. House in the Hamptons and NYC apts would never even exist for him.
The truth is neither opie or anthony are making any money anymore for a decade.there both living off of the millions they made from opie and anthony show and thats it.
I dont know how cumia has or hasnt invested his money BUT when you sell a 3 million dollar a house in NY you clearly had more on the bank than the average joe. I dont have 3 million dollar on my bank account. he clearly isnt "broke".
Ant also got divorced at the absolute pinnacle of their fame. And supports his deadbeat brother. And has a rather expensive habit of collecting teenage girlfriends, guns and felonies.
I think someone podcasting from the beach like Opie and feels the need to defend his finances compared to Anthony’s to a stranger commenting is Insane!
All this means is Opie is panicking for more money cuz he's going broke, so might as well project his disgruntled attitude on Anthony who still has famous friends. I'm so happy after all the shit Opie gave Denny about being a low paid DJ, Opie now makes less money than Denny. 😂😂😂
If Anthony or opie put any of their money in the stock market for the last 30 years I’m sure they are doing very well. Stocks have went up significantly over their careers.
In retrospect based on what we know now, Opie wasn’t far off. Maybe Ant wasn’t going broke but Ant recently said in Feb he had to put 50K of his own money into the day to day overheads of Compound Media for the first time and then was asked again in April. This is why he shut it down or merged it whatever
his producer guys look stuff up while he is doing the show. i think thats why he let the caller bomb with his barbie joke to give them a few minutes to pull it up.
Who even cares about an O&A revival at this point? This isn't like an iconic rock band where Axl and Slash can play songs from 35 years ago and the crowd cheers. What are they gonna do? Homeless shopping spree? Cherry darts? Give away WOW bumper stickers? It's over. They hate each other now and wouldn't last a week together. It's never going to happen, drop it and move on.
With advertising, the pay wall, and YT views combined, I think it’s possible they pull 90-100K a month. But his take home is probably 8-10%. He probably lives on a fixed income at this point

6:10 Ant actually sounds fond (and exasperated) when he says "aww, Opie...". Deep down I think Cumia's tired of hating him, probably even forgiven him by now. You get to an advanced point in your life when it's too exhausting to keep up fronts and beefs, you only have the energy to live and let live.
Fast forward 9 months and Anthony admits he pumped almost half a million of his own money into Compound Media over 2 years. Compound Media made 1 million a year but lost more.
Rent is probably 215k a year for the space in the Garment District(4-7k square feet) How much is he paying for his shows on the network $500 per show 4x shows a week for what, 40 weeks? Call it $100k/yr for shows. That leaves $685k/yr to pay bills his staff and himself a year. How many people are in the booth? Does he pay for benefits? Taxes? I can see Ants “pay” being maybe less than what Kyle makes on this channel every year for since he started the channel. Let’s call it 45k a year. That is being generous. He could pay 15 k a year out of pocket? Even if its a Dollar a year, KYLE is making more $$ than Cumia. To quote the man, “I get paid to spit my stuff, Anthony pays to be on a show”
@@sheppygawdog1954 Have you seen the video of Opie touring the studio from years ago? That place is small, it's not "4-7k sq. ft." LOL. It's 2,000 sq ft at most, and Garment District office spaces like that are $35 a sq ft per year on the high end. Ant's not paying more than $120k a year for that space, and I would bet it's considerably less than that. He also pays the talent more than that. Dave Landau was paid $100k a year. I would guess bigger shows like the Wet Spot bring in enough views and ad revenue to give Chrissy Mayr at least that. Add in everyone else, who admittedly no doubt make much less, plus 3-5 booth/support staff members, and I would guess that eats up around $500-600k a year. How much do you think he's paying Erock? He's essentially Keith the Cop's replacement and is the producer/showrunner so I'm guessing he's getting $120-150K a year alone. All this to say I would pin down Anthony's take home to be in the $250-300K range. Which is not Opie & Anthony money, but it's not bad for a self-employed, "canceled" former shock jock.
Opie was the ultimate cooler during O and A years. Non-pareil at stopping show momentum almost as if he practiced taking a call at the most inopportune time possible. Or perhaps Opie has an innate talent like a savant or prodigy at pulling the e-brake on the show's good times?

Yeah. Anthony brought in a million a year but spent well over that amount. Anthony may not personally be broke, but his business wasn't turning a profit. Opie was right. He technically brings home more from his podcast than Anthony does.
