Anthony Davis is incrediblly underrated because of his versatility. He can join any team and make them better because he has so many strenghts. Whther they be shooting, rebounding, rim protection, switchability, rolling, screen setting, passing, or jumping passing lanes, he will find a way to impact the game.

@Cam The difference is that AD can mesh well with other ball dominant superstars. For example, Harden, a top 10 player, won't have as large of an impact as AD if he joins a team say with Lebron or Luka. This is because Harden's playstyle and skillset is so dependent on having the ball. For AD, much of his value is actually off-ball such as his otherworldly lob catching ability or his top 3 defense.

AD is the ideal small ball 5. Big enough to protect the paint, fast enough to switch and play on the perimeter, and can stretch out to the 3-point line on offense. Him playing 5 has been key to the Lakers dominating the Rockets and now the Heat, two small ball teams. I think there is only one other player in the league who could be better than AD as a small ball 5, but unfortunately never ever plays the 5: Giannis. It's unfortunate we couldn't see them match up in the finals this year. EDIT to those piling on Giannis's shooting: I agree, his shooting is a problem, but my main point is, Giannis needs to be playing the 5 a lot more!
@elmehdinafia1237

Giannis can't stretch out to the 3 point line on offense cuz he's a lousy and a sub-par shooter..the only + I'll give to giannis is the fact that he's faster and better at penetration.. But the problem is that in the playoffs it's always a half court game, so great shooters and post players like AD thrives under this circumstances

I would give anything for Giannis to sign with the Celtics. He would be like a better version of Ben Wallace replacing Theis. If he only wants to win, and doesnt need the scoring ego stroke, the Celtics and Lakers would bring it back to the 80s.

AD might go down as the most skilled big ever. He can post up, pop for 3, shoot, and best of all, finish. On defense, he can rim protect, block, and recover. One of the few bigs who can not only guard 1-5, but also switch to a pg and not need to panic. I saw him stay with lillard and harden. Not saying they won't score on him, but he's just so versatile.

AD is the real MVP of this playoffs. When he has a bad game, the Lakers lose. When he has a great game (even without big numbers), the Lakers become almost unstopable. The best way to reduce AD's impact on defense is to star Olynyk. He is not as good as Adebayo but his game forces AD out of the paint and creates better offense for the Heat. Adebayo should become the 6th Man off the bench and help Jimmy get some time off too. Spoelstra and most coaches like to force their best hands over the Lakers wich is a bad thing to do. Thats why I think that Boston would be a bigger natural problem for the Lakers. They can play 5 out without compromising rebounding and defense.

You clearly haven't seen Olajuwan. Greatest defensive player up there with Bill Russell.

This is fun to watch after seeing how the Lakers looked without him vs the Suns. I'm no doctor, and don't think his injury history is *that* big of a deal, but his impact when he's not available can't be ignored.

Definitely some impressive clips and it’s obvious people don’t wanna shoot with him around and for good reason.

I have a question for anyone who knows basketball analytics. In hockey and soccer, there's a stat called "expected goals" which takes all the shot attempts and the league avg shooting percentages from all the shot locations to determine essentially how many goals should be or should've been scored in the game. Is there a stat like this in basketball?
@peterpan3022
@peterpan3022 3 года назад
its not quite the same but true shooting percentage ist somewhat similar. just from the other point of view basically (not "how likely is this shot going in" but "how likely is this player/team to make this shot".

He listened to his coach, and either way the next game after Jimmy dropped 40 he held Jimmy to 1-9 shooting when guarding him so get yo dumbass on

Cant even guard? Lol if you saw those game giannis wasn't the main defender on JB and that's bud's fault since he isnt able to make adjustments on both offense and defense

I can’t wait for the team to be healthy next year. There was so much potential this season but injuries ruined it, alongside the rest of the league.

I believe Butler should take the open 3s and midrange jumpers if the Heat want to have a chance getting game 5.

Can you do a video on clutch stats. The NBA’s official clutch stats are in the last 5 minutes if the game is within 5 which is obviously flawed. I think it should be the last 5 minutes if the game is ever within 5 in those last 5 minutes instead of being within 5 at the 5 minute mark

How much would it help right now for Miami to have Dragic or any other lead guard to facilitate? If you want to put Davis on Jimmy but then make him a cutter rather than a lead ball handler, does that help to take some of his impact away? Jimmy's not exactly a knockdown a shooter, so maybe he just cheats off him and goes back to being a roaming help monster, but it seems like it might help to be less predictable and have him out of the main action on every play.
