@@numairsalmalin3552 As long as you can meaningfully back up your interpretation I would say all are valid. If you're talking from the perspective of what the writer intended, then sure there's a correct interpretation but they'd have to disclose what it is.
I understand what the comment means structurally sure we’ve heard sad folky pop songs that build to have a finish but to say it sounds exactly the same is a bit of a push lol it’s pop music throughout of course there will be a popular structure
To the chatters who wrote "So she likes older guys", "Classic Story of a young girl chasing an older guy" on a song expressing the trauma of being groomed: fuck you, fuck your health, fuck your kneecaps. The FIRST lines are: When I was eleven years old, I just wanted to be pretty I stayed away from the creeps but they got me through my screens Saying I could only do it if I'm face down in a bed So I was counting the days 'til I was up for the taking If that is a "classic story" to you I don't even know anymore... EDIT: Even the CLIPPER put a Content Warning in the description (thanks for that by the way, pretty cool of you). How dense are people ffs.
i dont like how some of the chat didnt get the right interpretation of johnny johnny johnny when the lyrics arent subtle about it at ALL 😭 but idk maybe they focused on the production more
People have to learn to ignore twitch chatters because they are known for being stupid as hell. No reason for him to put it on screen aswell but here we are...
I think people misunderstand that Johnny Johnny Johnny isn’t a positive song. The reason it sounds so catchy and happy is that you really do become that blind and infatuated when you’re being manipulated. This song is coming from a victim who understands she’s been fooled by groomers in the past and she’s playing up that childlike ignorance for a vent song. It’s putting you in the shoes of a young person who falls into this trap and making you feel the sickening confusion. People who think this is glorifying statutory rape have no song writing literacy honestly.
True! There's a really cringe SoundCloud comment on it that's like "disgusting you'd make this song so upbeat with this subject matter" but like... That's the point
I choose to think it's so upbeat and intoxicatingly catchy because it is meant to stick in your head the same way the trauma of being groomed stays with someone for a very long time.
I normally expect fantano chat to be awful so I wasn’t gonna say anything, until during Johnny Johnny Johnny somebody said “Wallsocket lol. It may as well be Hole” Not only did bro misunderstand the song but that was also like the most potent admission of one’s own misogyny I’ve ever heard oh my fucking god
@@user-jz8dd3zj8e the song is about a character being manipulated and groomed into sex by a much older man, the person in chat refers to the person as a hole which is commonly used to demean women as only being useful for sex. It’s a type of shaming that I see all the time and is awful all the time but I really didn’t expect to see it during a song about literal grooming
man i love this record i pray that he doesn't give it a fuckass review, def takes a lil bit of time for it to hit but man the some of the choruses n hooks on here are delectable delicious juice for my bones and my body and my soul
for any of the *new* underscores fans, anthony has made it known that he is a longtime fan of six impala, so it’s about time he’s reviewing underscores
i mean yeah, really all his meaningful content is in his reviews, i feel like he started streams because he knew reactions were a huge profit motive but didnt want to play into the whole react realm of hamming it up for a big reaction
@@andrewfreeman5165 Yeah it's weird cuz being a music critic you would expect him to at least make a little comment or opinion on the songs he listens to live??? lol but most of the times is just him standing there
@@andrewfreeman5165 bro his reviews are not meaningful. He spent 7 minutes "reviewing" wallsocket without mentioning ANY of the themes. He just vaguely gestures at lyrics and production choices and then gives it a score at the end unless it's a Kendrick album
Duhhh(etc) is seemingly an interpretation/expansion of Waltz #1 by Elliot Smith off of XO. Took me a second to place it but man is the sound so similar. Tried layering them together and with some editing it would be some mashup magic if anyone gives it a serious go.
lol, Fantano has a stomach of iron The first time I heard the 'I hadn't been touched yet' and ' I hadn't even been born', I had to stop and be like... 'bro...'
And the album needs it. Feel like it isn't getting anywhere near enough views and listens that it should be getting. Fantano will be huge for exposure, especially if it's a good review.
