Their reactions are the best when they are prepared for something messed up but then he says something much much worse than we all expected....and their reactions show they weren't ready for it just like the rest of us.
I remember reading a joke in a book when I was in middle school. What did Helen Keller think when they gave her a Cheese greater? It was the most violent book she ever read
It's always frustrated me that there isn't a whole live version of this set where I could see what he had done to Kelly. And I listen to this years ago. So for years I've just been wondering what was done to Kelly but by the sound of it I can assumed it was some kind of dart gun.
every joke from AJ is the same... set up expectation, then give the most depraved twist he can think of... Nothing wrong with it but writing a set is easier following the same formula over n over... enjoyable enough. Much less impressive than BB or NM or others... humble opinion 👍
It's a niche, and he's good at it. Jimmy Carr is the Uk's version of the same thing. Not totally dissimilar to Mitch Hedberg as well except mitch was more innocent and absurd. Certainly not as genius as Norm McDonald, but very enjoyable anyway. Burr used to be great... I feel like I'd be more excited to see a new Jeselnik than a new Burr though tbh. Burr has lost his touch. The angry opionated ranting is a young man's game, also we've kind of had our fill on his style of content from just about everyone over the last decade. Making fun of women and snowflakes and etc, it was necessary and great when it started, but so played out now. Chappelle is past it as well.
It's easier to keep a crowd entertained by following a formula? I would've thought the joke/twist would have to be better in order to work when the crowd has come to expect it.
@@Hardcastle83 Maybe BB has lost a bit of shine b Paper Tiger was still pretty good. He has a family and wife now so his 'edge' has gone a bit but still very funny. Chapelle is a clever man and I support his anti-woke anti-cancel culture angle buuuut... I hate it when comedians think they have a 'message' the world needs to hear and start preaching... Trevor Noah, Jim Jeffries I'm looking at you.
You're so high, that I feel bad for how uncomfortable me telling you this must make you feel. If it makes you feel any better though, everybody already knows, you're stuck feeling this way for ever, and that sound you hear in the background, is indeed the cops that are on there way.
I enjoy most of Jeselnik's stand-up, super funny. However, I believe him to be wrong about God. Same with George Carlin, such a comedic genius, it's just a shame that he openly worshipped the sun god, Ra.
