Marvel owes Mackie a lot props for how immensely entertaining he is in press junkets. If you took all of his press junkets for Marvel and stitched them together as a movie, it would be the 11th best Marvel film of the first 3 phases.
He and Seb just need to do a show with Tom Holland, where they're all just picking on each other. The shit they all say to each other is absolutely hilarious.
@TheSportsGuru it truly is. The look on Anthony's face was priceless. I also like him and Seb saying about Tom needing his juice box, and they interrupted an interview of his to hand him a drink bottle and he's like, "I need my juice."
This, funny enough, remind me of that one interview where Anthony said "mawwiage..." when asked which one would be a better best man between Bucky and Sam 😅
It's like an RDJ-Tony Stark situation, like with him being so closely similar to his character's personality almost like an embodiment of the character himself, Falcon.
@@deathmonkeysean hahahaha the OG interviewer who made every celebrity question his source. It was less of a "great question" and more of a surprised " how'd you know that" kinda thing.
@@deathmonkeysean nardwar just finds out hidden details and long forgotten facts. Sean is actually a great interviewer. While he doesn't find details on the level of Nardwar, sean's way better in all other aspects of an interviewer.
Sean makes every interviewee not just comfortable, but excited about the interview. The premise of the hot wings brings us here, but we stay because of how phenomenal of an interviewer he is.
Sean's why I watch, he's got a knack for questions to the most referential things, and impressing his guests with thoughtful questions too. His journalism experience really shows every time he sits down, and I'm here for just about anything Sean can put out. And making Tony brighten up telling a fishing story was really cool. You can tell he loves it, and Sean giving his guests the opportunity to just riff is lovely.
I don't know if the channel manager for this can see this, but I want the artist who did the drawings of Anthony and his fish stories to know that the art really improved!!! LIKE FUCKING SIGNIFICANTLY. It's beautiful! The scene with the surprised crew people eating the fish is just WOW
I love Sean Evans so much. You can tell Mackey was prepped for just a regular interview with some added spice, but then Sean asks about fishing and Mackey lights up. Sean always knows what to do to get the actor out of their shell.
It's so rare for them to get the chance to actually talk about the things they like and their interests in interviews. It's always just about whatever big movie or project they're working on now. Sean is a constant breathe of fresh air in his interviews. Extra wholesome
"I've always said one of the greatest rappers to ever live was William Shakespeare." My middle school english teacher thinks she is slick paying Anthony to say that but I see you Miss H.
Does Sean react bigger to the heat when his guest does? Seems like the sauces are hotter when the guest can't handle the heat, and Sean plays along to be kind! What a class interviewer!
That's exactly what he does. He doesn't want to make the guest feel bad. In truth, he could drink the whole hot sauce bottle without shedding a tear :D
He said that few times that, imagine going to a tour and the tourist guy guiding you panics when he gets lost in the jungle. So Sean is actually acting tough but he too feels the pain.
Reminds me of that SNL skit with Lin Manuel Miranda where he plays a stereotypical substitute teacher trying to connect to inner city students and failing horribly.
Same. Him and Seb talking mad shit about each other is the biggest draw I'm feeling for their new show, and it sounds like they're basically brothers from another mother.
Too bad Marvel has plans to release a heap of boring female leaded characters within the next 3 years and all we really get is F&WS for now. Miss Marvel just sounds like a forced diversity show
That question about the "prize catch" was one of the best hot ones moments in a while. Sean's consistent work of asking great questions, Anthony Mackie's child-like excitement about such a niche question, and the hilarious and adorable drawings done by the First We Feast team... 10/10 moment
He's a massive bully though. Just watch his junket interviews. I loved it when Marvel paired him with Winston Duke from Black Panther - a superior actor and also a mountain of man. Mackie was on his best behavior then lol.
@@jakestroll6518 massive bully? That’s a bit excessive, I watched a lot of his interviews and I think that’s just his humor. Even in the interviews with Winston he acted the same
I love Anthony Mackie and I think he’s hilarious in his interviews, but I especially love that this interview brings out a side of him that’s more than just the funny dude
Reasons why Hot Ones is the best celebrity interview show ever: 1. The premise, which is hot wings makes the celebrity excited or scared which is always fun to watch 2. They research a lot, so they’re questions aren’t something you’d ask in an interview they are something you’d ask as a friend. Instead of the questions mostly being opinionated it’s all mostly just questions about celebrities’ life and experiences. 3. Sean is a great host and makes the celebrities really comfortable. Sean let’s his guests actually talk and share the full story because unlike other interviews and talk shows, this doesn’t have a time limit. Well it does but definitely not as long as some other interviews. 4. Hot wings makes us see other sides of celebrities we haven’t seen before. There’s more but I’m tired of typing now
It's like what Nardwuar does. Trying to connect more to the person itself as the interviewer instead of just asking entertaining or "juicy" questions to these celebrities which might result to topics people don't give a shit about, but results in some genuine responses from the people being interviewed
You forgot to add on the excited and scared part, that they are never scared of anything but the wings, its the only show that never presents abrasive questions that ever single other entertainment registry does, Sean and hot ones never make it uncomfortable to be interviewed, ever, it's only the wings that add any kick. And I ❤️ it fot that. I think we all do. Ps I think I wrote this for you cause you were too tired 😊 I'd know you'd agree
Sean is by far the GOAT of interviewing. Everytime he gets compliments on how unique and deep his questions are. I don’t believe we will ever see an interviewer like Sean again in our lifetime.
I like the different direction they went in with the MCU Falcon, and how it's grounded in Mackie's own history in the new series (the whole New Orleans angle). The Falcon in the comics had his mind and history messed with by the Red Skull (he was changed to make him what the Skull thought would be a perfect sleeper agent: a criminal altered to believe he was a social worker -- though the truth was the criminal past was purely the Skull's invention). I'm glad they have a more grounded version of Sam Wilson, if only because there's such a contrast between Bucky's uncertainty and guilt and Wilson's centered and grounded life (even when it's disrupted, he still has a foundation and a family).
My brother met him a few times while working at the airport in New Orleans. My brother has met a lot of celebs bc of his job there and he's said multiple times his favorites have been Anthony Mackie and Gary Sinese.
“2nd - 4th leads are the best characters” This is very true... I still remember Anthony Mackie as Papa Doc in 8 Mile vs my son knowing him primarily as The Falcon... Unforgettable characters... much respect
Anthony Mackie: _I like bland food._ Also Anthony Mackie: Recites Shakespeare, not pulling out of the challenge, after consuming the 2, 000, 000 Scoville sauce.
We attended the same arts high school 🏫 New Orleans is a very special place to have your family history based. Also agree about Angel Heart (our voice instructor was in the movie!)
Is there anything not to love about Anthony Mackie? Intelligent, fabulous sense of humor, well-spoken, thoughtful, mischevious, good-looking,...he's a package deal!
Anthony's face freaking lit up before you even finished your fishing question. It was so cute to see him get so excited to answer it. Great job to whoever wrote that one!
I love Anthony Mackie. He has so many layers to him and I’m amazed how knowledgeable he is. And his life experiences. His career catalog extends. Definitely a master of al his crafts. Learned a lot. Great interview.
I really love to hear him talk up the art of training acting. He didn’t call anyone out... but I felt that when he said he’d “only be able to play Falcon” without his training. That’s true. The studied actors really do have that next level range
@@vidyaratan8522 random normal people stuff but mainly travel and all the cool places he said I should check out. He’s a big fan of Lisbon and said it was one of his favorite places. He was filming there at the time I think.
Nah Will Smith is actually interesting this brother said he a) likes bland food b) thinks the greatest rapper of all time is Shakespeare and c) that the THIRD AND FOURTH leads are the best characters??? Cmon lol this guy might be the most boring globally famous person I’ve ever seen on Hot Ones
I haven't had the new Apollo, but I've had the previous Last Dab. It is completely ruins your nose and throat when eaten straight. Although it's actually really good when you toss a few dabs into a sweet barbecue sauce or mixed into a buffalo sauce or soup or salsa.
@@shannonbrown2392 such a good sauce. I haven't had Apollo either, but xxx is an amazingly good sauce. Love it as a dipping sauce for chicken, or as a topping for Mexican food. But a little certainly goes a long way.
This has to be one of the most genuine guests that I have seen on this show. His accent is awesome and is answers are honest. He's tons of fun. I would definitely hang out with him if he let me
I literally LOL''ed when he blew his nose and the audio echo's off into the next transition. Masterclass in editing, Bravo. Your editor's on this show are fantastic, keep up the great work!
Wow. This was an amazing interview. Sean asked insanely unique and cleverly personal questions. Mackie seemed engaged and excited to answer every question. Brilliant work. I genuinely loved this episode
