💯 % agree. Thanks for putting it so succinctly for us all, Robert! I’m naturally not the first to have said this… (This is so unoriginal)… But it bears repeating, I think… So criminal that he was not knighted. But then again… I have a feeling, brilliant and wise beyond his years as he was… So used … nay, almost innured??? to ravaging pain as he had to be, since infancy … I have a feeling he would be the last person to be surprised about that. ? I guess it just: Is What It Is! THANK YOU FOR YOUR MASSIVE GENEROSITY OF SPIRIT and such MASSIVE WORK ETHIC, Anthony! You are so loved and appreciated by so many millions of us Littlechaps! ❤❤❤❤ 🙏🏼 ✌🏽
This show after all these years shows us the personality and character of the incredibly talented Anthony Newley. He is grateful and it shines through. Anthony Newley, RIP,
He connected with his audience so wonderfully well because he had a beautiful vulnerability about him that oozed empathy along with a true understanding of the condition of being alive as a human being with all the complexities and frailties that brings. Class personified.❤❤ ❤❤
Absolutely love Anthony Newley, as a person, as a performer, and we seem to get to know him in his personality here. WHAT talent! What style.... RIP dear Anthony Newley.
It's unbelievable that Newley struggled to find work. Today he would be celebrated and adored, but there was a time when he was perceived as being out of style. But not here. Simply one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived.
I fell in love with him when I was 10. Saw him on Ed Sullivan then and followed him on American TV for years. When I say “fell in love with” I mean that I wanted to marry him! I still wish I had. Collect his music and films, read his fabulous biography. I still dream of him today at 69 years old!
