The first 37 secs on the video is just a opinion from yourself that doesn't know what actually happen. You can go on the youtube of the colts and see what Richardson said about what happened. He clearly said that it was suppose to been a run play which then put them into a position where him and the receiver wasn't on the same page because he try to make something work. Which lead to the INT. It's not something he wanted to do but you have to think fast. He just didn't want to fumble the ball. Plus didn't know where the line was at because if he threw the ball out of bounds it would've been penalty for grounding. So yes players that are new have to learn and he isn't any different from any other guy who plays the game. You need to take into account people do throw off their back foot. Sorry not everyone can be Mahomes and throw off one foot. Yet his receivers do most of the work to get to the ball. This game really didn't show me anything other then it is preseason.

@stephentrader9142 I'm with that ....he's going to be the best black QB ever if he can reach his peak potential for sure and honestly if he does he may be the best period. I'm good with either one because He could have a run game like Vick and a pass game like McNabb or Moon but honestly he may be a better passer than them if he can fix his footwork with his short game. The downfield passes he seems to use his feet correctly and he gets almost like anxious when he tries to pass it short because I think he second guesses himself and starts pump faking and when he fixes that he will be much better.

0:31 I think it was more of a superman issue. There was no way he was getting reset in that situation unless he made at least two people miss, so he tried to connect on an off platform circus throw. I think it's wrong to confuse this with 'mechanics'. I agree with your assessment overall tho. Thanks for the vid! edit: I hope they get Taylor signed. I wonder what he's asking for, or if the fundamental issue is that Jim just doesn't want reward him for what he's done a year early.

People are gonna overreact to that INT which was caused by the last second edge blitz, but I actually thought he played really well after that for that only being his 14th start ever. You can tell he's improved a lot with his fundamentals, e.g. his footwork, just since last year which has me very hopeful that those accuracy issues we saw will improve with time. First off, that was a busted play in at least 2 areas. I don't know if he was throwing to Mckenzie or Pierce, but the play design not good, the d sniffed it out, Mckenzie broke late, and if it was for Pierce over the top (I doubt), AR5 just has to realize and ground that ball at receivers feet, or sail it out of bounds. Steichen even said they should have switched out of it. And second, AR5 starting was to just get him out there on the big stage, and see how he fared. His first defense he faces is the ever-tough Buffalo Bills? I think he did pretty well for three drives and most were designed run plays, like I said, just to get him snaps and reading the D, working the clock. Thirdly, it's pre-season...and first game to boot. Pierce should've had that TD, but it was a tough catch on an amazing throw..and the defender was all over him. But Pierce wins those catches 7/10. It's not great when your expensive kicker comes out and misses a chip shot, either. But I saw guys slipping and all kinds of weather/field related/ pre-year type things. O line looked a bit better on run blocks. Get JT signed. And, Oh man, did Matt Barkley look good against third string defense or what?? Lol. Give him a trophy.
@nfamusRyno
@nfamusRyno Год назад
@@RalphKetchum and what of the free runners going straight after the qb on this timing play? And like buddy said in the video, the footwork was off. But that's the point of getting our QB out there. With the busted play, even with timing, that play was likely not being completed. A split second later or sooner and that ball is batted or tipped, and the receiver was blanketed anyway. Like I said, they play should have been audibled or at best thrown away or at the feet. It's a learning moment. Glad it happened in a pre-season game and against a likely top 5 defense. Go Colts!

I think there’s a major difference between being a “developmental project” and Richardson . Of course he’s not gonna come in like luck or Burrow , but he’s more advanced then a project. Willis was a project, AR will be more Lamar than than Willis . He’s an elite runner which will bring him along nicely and has amazing pocket awareness, and has a top 5 arm day 1. That’s quite a bit more than a project . IMO , people out here talking about him like 3-4 years down the road. I don’t think so , he’ll be surprising people by the middle of this season .

Richardson looks like he did last year for Florida. he should have stayed for 1 more year. Jackson was much more accurate than Richardson. He is a north south runner, unlike Hurts and Jackson who can make players miss in the open field. So he takes more hits. The colts need to get better on both lines and should have signed a quality RB backup like Hunt.

The footwork under pressure is going to be the difference maker for him. When he has time, he's a pretty talented guy, but under pressure his feet throughout his UF career he becomes bottom tier. Have to disagree on the escapability you quoted. "95%" of NFL quarterbacks can't escape that tackle attempt? Nope. Probably 75% could, or higher.
