Way better than levis, he's got a good throwing motion when he sets up, can scramble and extend the play, an athlete, big arm talent, strong when he runs it, when he's in rhythm he's hard to stop, the footwork technique/ pocket presence are the concerns, going through his progressions not being hasty/ field vision needs development but imo all correctable within a season maybe 2 in the league ,if he's not gone by mid 2nd rd I think it's a possible steal, Ted Bridgwater ,Gino Smith type?

I've watched every game throw he has made. Yes, he misses the layups every game. The harder a throw is, the more he excels compared to what you would expect. He's intelligent. He makes good presnap reads. He doesn't do his offensive line any favors and sometimes just seems to drift aimlessly in the pocket. His accuracy is really subpar, but much of the problem is timing. Mentally he hasn't been very resilient. He can go to pieces. As far as being a good NFL qb, I think he needed more time in the oven to work out some of this. But another season of 50% completion rate would disillusion any GMs who think he can be fixed. So, he's making the smart call for himself.

Lot of different stimuli that they are managing. Not only are they going through their reads but there are 9 dudes sumo wrestling each other in front of them, so sometimes they think they have a gap to run through and maybe roll out for a scramble pass or just run for the first. To get the checkdown they would need to move their eyes back down, from the middle and deep part to the short area. There is a small lag of focus, because of all that chaos happening infront of them. It's a lot easier to hit a check down when the wrs are running some sort of quick passing scheme, because the eyes are in the right layer of the field.

Such an interesting Time we live in where Qb records in college seem to be meaningless. What on earth makes Anthony Richardson a first round talent? He lost head to head to Hooker. Hooker beat by far the more top 25 team's (in alabama) while Richardson just failed miserably down the stretch run incredibly. Yet some how the games played and win loss records have zero impact on the draft. It's a strange world we live in. What next Tanner Mckee a 1-9 in conference Qb goes in round 1? That conference record really impresses me....i mean that one game he won showed enough promise to get drafted in round 1....it's Ludacris.
@djmingia0981
@djmingia0981 Год назад
In todays day and age we've moved past looking at record or box score stats. Very little of that has actual carry over to NFL success. The more technology at our disposal in tandem with all these years of scouting and seeing what's been successful and what hasn't. Has really changed and improved scouting as a whole. Since you mentioned Hooker, I'll try to quickly explain that issue. His issue is multiple. 1) Age. He's gonna be an old rookie which doesn't bode well for further development. 2) Plays in an incredibly simplified and QB friendly Tennessee offence which has almost zero carry over to the NFL. 3) At 25 years old still has mechanical issues that need work up top and below. 4) It took getting to Tennessee's offense + 23 yrs old to see any sort of serious success in college which is another bad sign.
@majik_man
@majik_man Год назад
@@djmingia0981 to me watching the Tennessee vs Florida game the both offenses seem to be the exact same scheme and in no way shape or form did Richardson look like the best QB on the Feild that day. Even the announcers we're crystal clear which QB looked better so it wasn't just my options. It's seems outrageous to say Tennessee had a gimmicky offense when Florida was running the exact same plays I'll take the QB who can actually beat an Alabama team. Because Richardson couldn't beat anyone. Do NFL teams want a QB that is overachieving or underachieving? Because the wasteland of Qbs who had dreadful Qb records and some flash in the pan potential of hype seems endlessly long. Richardson started the college year with 0 tds and 4 Int's in his first 3 games. That's first round talent?? It's not like his accuracy was breath taking by any stretch of the imagination. These Qbs with some flash hype that couldn't produce in the college and can't produce in the NFL is endless. You used the looking at boxscore analogy. Kyle Trask was 3 times more successful than Richardson at his own school look at production. Did he go in the first round? I'm not hating on Richardson but it's a joke if people think this guy is first round talent and Trask was far more effective with what double the TD production? At some point numbers matter...they always have matter and will never not matter. I just don't think Richardson is anywhere close to a better Qb than Kyle Trask. His numbers don't show it. His QB record doesn't show it. I would bet quite a few Florida fan's would say the same thing. Richardson i think will slid just like Malik Willis they just aren't first round talent. Richardson is at least as big of a project as Malik Willis was and guess what Kyle Trask got drafted ahead of him because his numbers meant something to NFL scouts. A win-loss record should matter 10 years from now. Is it everything hell no? But I want my QB target in the draft to at least be able to overachieve occasionally. Not lose to a dreadful Vanderbilt team. Hooker sure didn't lose to them.
@djmingia0981
@djmingia0981 Год назад
@@majik_man They weren't running the same plays or offense. It's a fact that Tennessee in particular runs an extremely gimmicky QB friendly college offense that doesn't carry over to the NFL. If you don't understand offensive schemes and differences in them that's fine, that's why I'm telling you this. But both schools don't run remotely the same scheme. By the way, a sports broadcasters opinion especially in game is almost totally meaningless. They're just as intelligent as the average fan. You're calling NFL pro scouts on teams a joke? Because among that scouting community Richardson is highly sought of and Hooker is not. Even many of the major scout analysts/outlets feel the same. I find it's only fans who highly hate on Richardson but think Hooker is some revelation. Box score numbers don't really matter. I don't have the time or will to go on a long explanation explaining why and all the finer details of it. Same with scouting QBs. It takes a lot more than just watching games and looking at the stats to scout a QB which is what the majority of fans do. That's how you end up with so many fans hyping up guys like Hooker and Duggan as top level prospects when in reality Hooker is likely a 3rd rounder and Duggan a 4th or 5th. Then they hype down guys like Levis, Richardson and McKee. 2 of which are guaranteed to be 1st round picks and McKee very likely a 2nd with a chance at the 1st.

@@djmingia0981 So do you think Richardson is better than Trask? I sure don't
@djmingia0981
@djmingia0981 Год назад
@@majik_man Without a doubt. I thought and still think Trask was trash and over drafted out of desperation by Tampa. He's a statue in the pocket with a non existent arm who took advantage of a player like Pitts.

Dude had a decent first half then dropped off the second half of this game. Feel like he has way to many problems for him to actually be successful in the NFL. He will most likely get somebody fired for drafting him.

Malik never showed any kind of the pocket movement or made the kind of throws that AR showed in just this one game. Never had the vision, anticipation, or decision making that again AR showed in just this one decent game. Just cuz they are both athletic and black doesn’t mean they are the same guy.

He almost beat FSU with his sheer will. Thank God he did not. Lol
