The QB School goal is to provide the highest level of football analysis available anywhere. The site is made for fans, players, and coaches.
The QB School is unique because it provides in-depth analysis directly from the former NFL QB that played for more NFL offenses than any other QB in NFL history-11 organizations.
No one has played QB in more NFL offenses than I have, and I want to share that football experience and knowledge.
The RU-vid channel provides a small sample of the football analysis, while the Patreon videos are deeper and broader in scope. The Patreon videos explore the nuance and subtlety of NFL play design, QB play, and execution. In essence, the Patreon videos are NFL QB meetings.
It’s my hope that these videos are fun and help share football knowledge at the highest level. Ideally, the videos will improve your understanding of football, QB play, and offensive execution. Also, I hope the videos increase your appreciation for the game.
Watching this again, months later... My god Getsy was a special kind of bad. Fields at least has a chance to continue improving behind Russell Wilson, with clearly better coaches working with him. But there were several "turn downs" , and missed open throws that Caleb is ripping for 1st downs, big plays, and TDs. I was really sad, when they moved on from Fields, but with C. Williams, you can clearly see how the passing game will improve. It also helps that Shane Waldron is miles ahead of Luke Getsy, in knowing how to install a offense. I'll come back to this comment/video, at the beginning of next season. Also during the midway portion, and end of season. I want to see the comparison of the OC/QB play. Keep up the fantastic vids!
Is it a coincidence that this is the first game where it seems like Bryce has worked (a little) in his footwork. And they win. Man I see you tear up some players or just bring up a slight footwork issue (BP13 aka BCB) who actually has a 5 step drop back and throws with “A!!!!” but you never really mention it with Bryce and it’s one of his main issues. He looks panicked because he’s constantly fidgeting with his feet. Just wondering because I know you love Bryce and I genuinely want to know if there is a bias there. Wouldn’t hold it against you. 😂 I watch your videos no matter what.
Would it be possible to discuss the pass protection the ties into the basic concept? You don’t have to discuss player action. Drop back protection thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Onward and upward…
It’s been a while since I’ve studied this (from Bill Mountjoy). Is there ever any installation/situation where are the number one read is a pre-snap look/eliminated pre-snap?

years ago: (50lbs ago), I played/Coached 8 vs 8 Rec league ball.. standard O-line was just 3: Center and Two Guards.. sooo 1st Read, 2 Read... then.. RUN!!!! if the Pros have tough time tracking across the field.. maybe us amatuers shouldn't !! cheers J.T.
Awesome video - really enjoy your channel and analysis of different stuff. I coach HS and we’ve had success with a version of this play.. Got the idea of our version from Ohio State... We run a smash variation to the front side and instead BS2 (typically a Slot, not a TE) running a Cross, we run a middle read with him and a Post by BS1.. so, play sorta turns into Y-Cross (triangle read w/Smash and Cross) versus 1 Hi and Mills-ish versus 2 Hi where we play off of the Field Safety (1: Mid Read, 2: Post, 3: RB Check Swing). Thanks for sharing!!! Love the X and O videos.
31:30 there's a 1999 OU playbook from when leach was there that you can find on the internet. Not modern per se but leach never changed anything anyway so you can still get the gist of the concepts as he taught them.
If I recall correctly, Norm Chow/BYU had a tag on this which put the strong side back on a Texas/follow route. That always intrigued me. /Yes, I know I’m commenting a lot. Is there an opportunity to get a graduate level degree on white cross and flood /sail? // These two concepts(three level/oblique stretches) have continued to intrigue me for decades now.

On the first play you looked at, would it be safe to assume that a lot of current pro offenses would motion the Hback into a 2 x 2 and just run a traditional chair so that they can diagnose man v zone, or do you think they stay in split more often?
Im happy Geno resurrected his Qb career w/ Seattle. 2 solid yrs after Jets benched him. I played semi pro qb, it aint easy 😮. Pro bowl means " elite / top shelf" passer. Vick / Young are my 2 faves
It seems like the Niners do bone head moves a lot!! And I'm a Niner fan. Why even go through all the trouble to draft him if you knew it wasn't going to work out? It looks like the NFL is going to give him the Tebow treatment. No one is going to work with him or really give him a chance.
CMC has been the biggest difference maker. Jimmy and Lance didn't have a triple threat RB CMC to bail them out. Brock sucks. 9ers aren't winning any SB with that kid. Last year was 9ers best chance with the best team and still lost. Brick is not the answer.
Would it be possible to get you to give some tips and pointers on coaching left handed quarterbacks. I’m a JV head coach/offensive coordinator with a left handed QB who has a decent arm for being an incoming 8th grader, I would appreciate any advice you may have to give on this topic. Thanks for all your work and everything you do for us here!
That AI tool is absolutely sick JT! What a cool resource to learn from such a wide range of football knowledge! Not surprised with X. You said you didn't have the biggest brain but Elon could do with a lend of a few cells 😂
At 43:00... DJ Moore really isnt open there. Maybe you force it regardless because its him but i think he makes the right read just delivers slightly deviated ball location
