A Train had some elite linemen opening holes for him. Steve Hutchinson, Jeff Backus, Jon Jansen. A lot of younger Michigan fans just don't realize how insanely talented those late 90s Michigan teams were. That '98 recruiting class was by far the greatest in Michigan history. They got the top ranked QB and top ranked player overall that year in Drew Henson. They got the top ranked RB in Justin Fargas, who sadly got injured and subsequently transferred back to California. They got the top ranked WR in David Terrell. And another top 3 WR in Marquis Walker. (The most underrated WR duo in Michigan history). They got the top ranked DB that year in Cato June. They even got the top kicked in Hayden Epstein. That class was stacked! Combine those players with holdovers from the 97 team and the talent was there. I truly think that 2000 team could have won the title. Just some bad flukey losses, especially that one to Northwestern. Ugh.
You went to high school with him brother I played against him watched him run over my high school.. I can't remember what year it was 1993 or 1994 Jena High vs Winfield in Winfield.. He was bigger than anyone else on the field we couldn't do nothing with him 😂🤣
Back when the Big Ten & Michigan was a force to reckoned with. Now it’s just Ohio St and I’m a Buckeye. I miss these days. My theory is that HS football recruiting is no where near what it once was in rust belt areas of northern Ohio & western PA in this century. It’s not the same level of talent that I grew up with especially in NE Ohio where I’m from. Michigan used to get a lot of guys from northern Ohio.
42-27 clapped your asses and won the B10! I promise you that will become the norm again. Ohio St isn’t physical as Michigan y’all are a pass happy soft Big 12 no defense playing ass team
Ok as a Bear- I remember A-train’s fumble at Northwestern toward the end of the game which NU converted into a 54-51 Game-Winning FG and BigTen title- we popped champagne that nite.
Oh, the great memories, especially in the Big House. His performances rank high with best that college football history has to offer. GOOOOOOO BLUUUUUUUE!
