Anthracite coal burning (16+ hours so far) in Warm Mornin 523 pt 3 

if you have access to anthracite, why would you want to waste your time with wood? doesn't matter if wood is "free" because everything that it takes to process wood costs you, think about it. if I didn't have access to anthracite, I would burn soft or bituminous coal and wood, I have about 1/4 ton of bituminous left it can be mixed with wood or burned on its own. I have burned alot of it. been really experimenting with the anthracite and I like it. both types of coal has different burn characteristics that's unique to the coal type
