If the Big 4 was my group of friends we have: Megadeth: That alcoholic friend but he's funny Slayer: The one who kicks asses in everything Metallica: He introduced everyone into the group, the founder Anthrax: The funny and the one who has a nice beard and eats Cheetos
@metal_kombat666 Idk I would say slayer does not kick ass in vocals, cant stand those fucking vocals. Don’t get me wrong, I love raining blood, just not the vocals.
DavidSixSixFive that reminded me of mr burns lol, “you can spend a nickel at the cinema and have enough left over to take the trolly from ebbets field to the polo grounds!”
Just saw these guys in Atlanta, GA on their 40th Anniversary Tour… they played this song, sounded amazing, the pit was wild! These guys are older but can still tear the roof off the place!
Apparently it’s time for my medication 🤣🤣 Side note: the main reason I was an Anthrax fanatic as a kid was the same reason I’m an Anthrax fan to this day; Belladonna’s vocal melodies over that beautiful crunchy choppy bad ass rhythm guitar of Scott’s 🤘 Each member can walk the walk and talk the talk. Benante and Bello Ian and Spitz Belladonna and Ian Just great chemistry all the way around.
This is my favorite song by anthrax they are so awesome this is one of my favorite groups big time they were one of my favorite groups groups growing up I'm 51 now going on 52 December 19th rest my case okay I'm Just an old fart 😁😊😂😅😂😆😂👍
Do they play it now? I mean like on metal mayhem on mtv classic? So far i've only seen one anthrax song which is nothing, so im just wondering if they play it nowadays
seems somewhere i saw a interview where they said this one of the best/fav videos as far as fun had, i may be wrong in my alcohol fueled lifestyle i may have dreamt it, lol
I read somewhere that they called their friends and setup in an abandoned house. Literally, it was low budget because they did not have any money at the time.
My parents only like metal.. I LOVE METAL... My friends hate metal... They like pop.... I hate pop.... I won't go bitching on pop songs... So I dont want people bitching on metal songs... Just listen the music you like..
Night Elf Thats cool but I would consider this song and a lot of metal songs to be pop. Not all metal is pop but this definitely is. Just listen to the structure of it.
@@papikrabz3592 actually clapton played the lead on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I’m pretty sure when he said “Eric clapton makes the guitar cry” it’s a reference to the Beatle song
Big 4 Metallica : Popular Kid Megadeth : Clever Kid, Complicated but classy Anthrax : Funny Kid and cheerful Slayer : Just Psycho kid want to kill someone 🤣🤣🤣👌🏼
My Spanish 1 class in a nutshell. I'm a senior stuck with a bunch of freshmen who don't realize that their actions have certain consequences like suspensions.
Kult Of Khaos Got a pretty good band I'm in coming up. This is not what Anthrax would call NOT! THIS IS NOW. Besides, Black Veil Brides and Darkness are trying to bring back Glam Metal, so new gen. thrash will be coming round to kick their asses into the ground.
@TheFirstNobody anthrax are good but I don't really dig joey's vocals. I'm more of a megadeth/testament kinda guy. Also this is thrash, its just old school. Thrash has been made heavier with crossover.
thrash metal is my favorite style of metal, you can't beat classics such as Spreading The Disease, Among The Living, State Of Euphoria, Peace Sells, Rust In Peace, Arise, Master Of Puppets the list goes on
I think it's a bit strange how Anthrax isn't more popular. This song is probably the most radio friendly as early 80s thrash gets (clean, melodic vocals, Malcolm Young -style flowy rhythm guitar, reasonably short, catchy etc.), and this is probably the earliest that a thrash metal band had a music video produced, way before Metallica and Megadeth got theirs in the 90s. Even just this song alone could have carried them into the mainstream the same way Enter Sandman (and Symphony of Destruction to a lesser extent) did, but years earlier.
@@hammothw4814 The song pretty rules. The intro, the intro riff, the chorus... and the video was innovative for the time, like the ones from "I Want Out" by Helloween and "Cum On Feel The Noize" by Quiet Riot, probably.
White coats to bind me, out of control I live alone inside my mind World of confusion, air filled with noise Who says that my life's such a crime? Trapped in this nightmare I wish I'd wake As my whole life begins to shake four walls surround me an empty gaze I can't find my way out of this maze 'Cause I don't care Fall in, fall out Gone without a doubt, help me I can't take the blame They don't feel the shame It's a madhouse Or so they claim It's a madhouse Oh, am I insane? My fears behind me, what can I do My dreams haunt my sleep at night Oh no, won't learn their lesson, white fills my eyes And only then they see the light

that must be his criminaly insane father. So when Anthrax played at the hospital, his father was hooked from there on. And that's what planted the seed for Robs metal ways. But of course after his father was released back into the general public where he met the soon to be mom of evil genius Rob!
for people say anthrax didn't deserves big four spot, just remember anthrax was one of the most unique and recognizable in term of original characteristic sounds just like megadeth, slayer, and metallica. Their influence later can be heard in crossover thrash band like suicidal tendencies,DRI, nuclear assault,SOD and municipal waste. it's something that bands like overkill, testament, exodus dont have, signature original sounds.
Joey Belladonna gets overlooked a lot. Not only was he far and away the best vocalist in the big four, he put a lot of the more clean cut hair metal singers to shame!
Admiral Bongo Scott lost his hair and shaves it and looks more badass now. I've already decided when my hair thins beyond anything remotely decent, I'm shaving my head every day, wearing Ben Shermans and Docs, and getting into great shape. I'll probably get more women that way than what I'm doing now anyway.
@@LucasNicolau-ys4kkThat’s on brand since Anthrax is BY FAR the most FUN of the Big 4, in concert and on wax. Their shoes looked like a ton of fun. Can’t say the same for the other 3 ESPECIALLY Slayer! lol
They don't make lounge hip hop like this anymore. This was the best lineup of Tool. Eric Clapton on vocals, Kirk Hammett on bass, Neil Peart on guitar, Fred Durst on drums, Elton John on triangle. This is the best song from And Justice For Rust
@@dieselbaby846 Ah yes. His flute on Holy Indians...The Wall Due was amazing. Also enjoyed his trombone on Testament's song Thriller. Best song from Rumors.
Indigo Verse True, but some tunes that sounded cool back in the day can sound really dated, cheesy or irrelevant today. Sabbath's Paranoid is fantastic example of an album that is still relevant and still sounds amazing even today.
Yeah, these days it's apparently all about technicality and retarded double-bass that oversaturates the song. Not to mention the generally tryhard vocals.
obviously you must be the kid on you profile picture to think somethink like that ... there's still good Trash Metal Bands nowadays, one of my favorite is Municipal Waste or Havok, you just have to get off the road of Mainstream/Pioneers Trash Bands of 80's ...
Nightmare1532 Yes, and? What's the big problem? In my country heavy metal, glam, etc. aren't almost played on the radio, mtv has lost so long ago his golden years... so, if it wasn't for a video game how do you expect that I and many more "kids" discover anthrax? "Adult", your comment is really stupid.
Bruh when RTL was released it was heavier than everything on the scene for years, people give met shit for being popular but I dont think they give them enough cred
@@azh8208 not even close, Megadeths was always staking it rep on being 'faster, heavier, and more technical than Metallica', mustaine had a huge chip on is shoulder. that guys post is pretty accurate even though I dont like slayer much anymore
This is PRECISELY why they were included in the BIG FOUR! They really knew how to fucking thrash! I FUCKING LOVE THIS ALBUM! Spreading the Disease! : )
this song is brilliant musically.. the first part sounds like older metal (similar to Judas Priest at the time) leading into a more modern sound similar to Metallica/Megadeth at the time.. it sounds as a gateway and they probably would have been much more popular had they continued in this vein.. I don't know of any other artists who melded these two sounds..
*sigh* just look for it, did megadeth not just recently release dystopia? iron maiden the book of souls? and if you really want to just literally look up "metal recent releases"
+Sheels1976 You miss metal? Lol wtf. 2015 was an amazing year for metal. Metal is still alive and going really well. It's just not as mainstream as it was in the '80s...
I must thank my brother to have bought me GTA Vice City, otherwise I wouldn't about this great band. This comment is really late as I had Vice City 10 years ago.
This song is the first Anthrax song I ever heard. I was around nine years old and just loved how heavy it was. This was considered very heavy back in 1986. Over thirty years later I am still a huge Anthrax fan and this is still my favorite song from them. They are still putting out great music.
