Reasons why I left the city and moved to the country. I don’t need the hustle. I don’t find thrill in stress. I don’t find joy in dealing with too many folks. I like clean things I grow.
In Japan and China where old people stay healthy and look young, they follow simple rules, eat only what they need, exercise out door in the morning like walking and enjoying sunlight, stay close with their family and be happy and generous. This are the three things most American don’t do, but in Asian countries for people that have longer life span, they do it as a habit at a young age.
Ignoring the circadian rhythm will cause accelerated aging. We produce the most digestive juices (bile) right about mid day when the sun is at its highest point, this is supposed to be the time to eat the biggest meal of the day for optimal digestion.
exactly! This smarty pants is on a mission to get very rich quick. He doesn't care about mice or us, but is looking to set up a mightly supplement sales empire. Watch this space!
I was 134kg. I started intermittent fasting. Bit by bit. I went down to 120. Then 110. No exercise, and still eating somewhat bad. Started watching what I eat a little and went down to 104. It was only in the last 45 days I’ve gone down to 84kg and that’s because I switched over to whole foods. Nothing processed or with added sugar. And started weight training everyday. I recommend watching and subscribing to dr Berg. I’m a lazy pos.. who smokes pot daily. If I can do it. So can you!
@@ColdPizzuh I switched over the iced black coffee in the morning for lemon green tea with apple cider vinegar and Dr. Bergs electrolyte power. Has massively improved mood and the ACV helps stable blood sugars so you won’t have as much cravings/hunger
That is contrary to the studies. The more you subject yourself to in terms.of discomfort, your genes turn on survival mode. Ergo, if you are happy, warm, and full, you age quicker. If you can't deal with stress, it's just Darwinism. Way to pay attention.
I'm in a wheelchair, i eat first time around 3pm,and then between 9 and 10 with bowl of 4 5 fruit verities afterwards. Being in a chair you would think I get fat from not moving much. No I'm very slim and my blood results are great. But it's easy for me to eat once or twice a day, cos I don't burn much calories /energy
Go easy, and start with low doses. It's good to be a heathy skeptic as this a strongly emotional topic. Also, do as much reasearch as you can before taling anything. Biologist here.
so funny... and so true..... some special meditations can bring REAL rejuvenation... however, i have to take notes... retinol, ahayuasca, dmt, great, noted ! thx
EVERYONE has already heard of Metformin and its a killer drug lol! It stops your appetite so if you keep that up you can get to the hereafter eternity faster
So now Joe's gonna just run out and follow his lead without doing his own research!? BIG MISTAKE! cause: An official recall was just issued (November 2020) for Metformin over cancer concerns! This guy is delusional to think a pharmaceutical (synthetic chemical) is going to make you healthier and live longer! This is the craziest thing I ever heard!
Lose your dad at 3, have dyslexia, lose a friend to drugs, end a relationship due to a stillborn pregnancy, of which your ex later dies in a car accident 18 months after, and have your sister fall ill with leukaemia and survive... I don't know man I think that would break me.
EG:UK sounds like the life of a 50 year old man. Add to that that he’s extremely rich and travels anywhere he wants and he gets to lose himself into roles like John wick.
Yeap - Chronic aka long terms stress (high sustained levels of cortisol) and chronic high blood glucose levels aka insulin resistance are the main things I’ve taken away from all this as to what causes people to age quicker. Basically getting blood work and making sure your hormone levels are good. Insulin is a hormone most people don’t know that.
I had two female friends who did not know each other. Both were 25, and one day they met. Later they each one said to me, " she's only 25? She looks much older." I did not tell them what the other said, but I had to laugh. The one thing they both had in common was 3 children.
@@MontanezMafiaz There is no such thing as Puerto Rican gene to warrant them any special treatment in that regard. They're like any other Latin American people out there. Quite the contrary, they're more predisposed to aging due to sun exposure. Asians, on the other hand, are a different story. Their flat faces makes it difficult for wrinkles or eye bags to form. There's no secret in this. Eat healthy, sleep well and stay hydrated. Don't expose your skin to UV rays and don't smoke that liberal cannabis shit. That's it, pretty much.
@@undercoverhamster2549 lOl wow.. That escalated quickly. I guess it proves that it's all BS. Humanity's only hope is deactivating the aging gene I guess.
Joe is the greatest interviewer I have ever seen. I love how he is able to probe into the depths of David's knowledge over and over. Each question reaches a deeper level of things.
He's a great interviewer, think it gets kinda overlooked but at the same time it's why his podcast is so great. It's not really just about his guest. Joe himself is an amazing host
@@mrzisme are yoh always such a tool? Or is it just a hobby? Saying he's trying to make.money off the interview, how sad. most people I've met who are exceptionally smart all have "weird" things about them. it's kind of a trade off. it's like they use all of their focus on important things instead of things like trying not to look overly creepy or whatever the fuck people do to pass off as normal so they can get laid.
valentin65 This reminds me of H3H3’s healthy at every size video wherein Ethan runs around a mountain eating m&ms and cheese puffs to carb load and get enough iron cause of doctor oz’s nutrient recommendations ahahaha
Listen up gents. I have been doing this exact formula except for metformin. I look an feel 20 years younger. I am 44 and have started jogging again, I eat less and save money, the only hard part is learning to control the hunger the first week or two. Thanks guys changed my life I will check back in in a year.
I hear a lot of people bashing Joe for his "pseudo-intellectualism," but try keeping up with this conversation and asking relevant technical questions within the field with this doctor. This is on another level.
I have been warned all the time because I almost never eat breakfast, and routine skip lunch and eat a big fat dinner. Now it seems I did it all correctly. And people do say I look younger than my age.
very true, i have a friend who had same style eat, without knowing it, altough he had light breakfast. Everyone around would think is 10 years yonger than his real age. Ps. One thing, dont eat a lot before going to bed.
Ricky Bowen its not idiotic at all, your the idiot. As long as you can eat your full daily diet within 8 hours, its much more healthy to intermittent fast
Cut out sugar and corn syrup and carbs. All that daily fasting, Brewers yeast and taking the diabetic drug ( ) regulating Blood sugar. When your body has to makes insulin it ages you. So Don't Spike you Blood sugar in the first place.
@@ksam5673 I can answer the last question for the guy: Yes, she does. At 103 years old, not being dead already looks better than the overwhelming majority of people her age
He's right. Ageing is the main risk factor for all the major diseases of developed countries. However traditional medicine still treats the symptoms, not the cause. Ageing is the cause so it really is the disease.
Nicotinomide always was known as a form of non-flushing vitamin B3. Btw, David Sinclair as a co-owner of one pharmaceutical company working on changing MNM from supplement status freely available to the drug to be controlled snd by prescription only. Thanks David Sinclair.
That's what good interviewers do. They repeat the main points because not everyone listening is completely focused all the time (doing other things at the same time, etc.).

Its just camera tricks, slight makeup and some minor surgeries. He doesn't look young. We work in this industry and know how they do certain things. Also we have no idea what his age is in the first place. It could be 28 for all we know.
Trust me, just staying inside and out of the sun and not doing things that stretches your skin, from child birth, weight gain and loss or even running, you will look younger. I’m not sure it’s super healthy, but you can keep the vampire look.
Lol he looks like he’s got some from Botox to limit expression causing wrinkles and fine lines and I’m not sure he has teeTh lol he looks about 45ish. I’m not impressed.
me too but not whole. Like you wouldn't want to eat an entire DEER in one sitting. MAYBE half. Costco's now selling a great Deer Freezer - it lets you store the entire deer WHOLE, i.e. antlers, hooves - whatever your Calling.
Why is it that you always sense a jewish person is reptilian/creepy/sinister? It's been a common theme all throughout history, and in all cultures which met the jews. What could be the reason for that?
@@Satsusss Have you ever eaten raw mammal flesh? Because that's how carnivores eat it in the wild. Or do you eat it cooked and seasoned with cheese and bread?
That is a wild concept. People do seem to age rapidly at stressful times of their lives and almost not at all when doing things right. Maybe aging is a disease that can be stopped. Not death, just aging.
Trust me, the KEY to successful aging and looking at least 10 years younger and feeling like you are 30 something is Hormone Replacement Therapy. HOrmones dwindle as we age, especially for women, Menopause is horrible, Men lose testosterone and get frail and have heart problems. I take everything, as prescribed by my specialist. I even took Testosterone in the beginning (I am a woman) because I was so depleted. now I take Thyroid, Estrogen, Progesterone, and eat well and take supplements. I used to do Intermittent fasting, now I just eat 2 meals a day. that's the real secret. hormones and take a break from eating now and then.
Dayum what an exchange of knowledge, Joe really asked alot of right questions. I love with when somebody who is highly knowledgeable isn't selfish with their knowledge and is patient towards someone who is interested in knowing :)
Joe caught him on the red meat studies, feeding herbivores red meat and just assuming the negative effects carry over to omnivores. He was just respectful about it and didn't press him in it.
I have a feeling in 30 years, medical science will look at this and think....":they were recommending we do WHAT??" I wouldn't take this guy's advice personally. I'm not an anti-aging doctor, but I do have a PhD in molecular biology/evolution (and majored in biochem for undergrad). That in no way makes me an expert on his topic, but I have a little perspective at the very least. Most researchers are just as fallible and silly as the rest of us. Especially when it comes to our own mortality. This guy is clearly obsessed with trying to stay/look young. He's eating grams of laboratory isolated powder daily and openly admits to getting stomach reactions as a result. Just treat your body like a hunter gatherer. Exercise in bursts and move dynamically. A bit of fasting is probably good and eat balanced whole fresh foods. Also try be happy or at the very least stimulated. Don't get stuck in your routines, because that's how you atrophy. Meditation, balance... and above all chill the fuck out. This is just my opinion, but I think when the true anti-aging technology comes in, it won't be from taking this or that drug, or supplement. It will come more dramatically and completely. Maybe from the sphere of nanotechnology or we'll just download ourselves as conscious software and live forever in paradise and explore the universe together. Ok, i really gotta go back to work lol.
"Most researchers are just as fallible and silly as the rest of us. Especially when it comes to our own mortality. This guy is clearly obsessed with trying to stay/look young. He's eating grams of laboratory isolated powder daily and openly admits to getting stomach reactions as a result." Important observation, especially to impressionable people like myself (even at age 67!) It's difficult to discern the truth... or, to know the meaning/implications of the truth when you find it... I’d never heard of NMN, so I did a quick Google & read a few links… One article, www.leafscience.org/nad-transporter-identified/ interestingly says: "This new study is an interesting development in the NAD+ story and will no doubt fuel further heated debate, especially among people who want to establish their NAD+ precursors as the superior choice for a dietary supplement." I remember when resveratrol was the supplement Du Jour, then gave way to pomegranate concentrate, acai, etc. Many years ago my family practice doc said I could add Niacin to a prescribed statin to further reduce my cholesterol… he said the lowered cholesterol result would be reasonably predictable, but the eventual health OUTCOME of either/both treatments was not firmly established.
What are you, stupid? Most drugs are based on TESTING, usually on animals first. And if it extends lifespan of animals, it's highly likely that it'll work on humans too. That's SCIENCE.

He constantly looks like when hes talking/smiling hes only giving up like 25% of the information, yet still provides a fairly detailed description. I think he's super smart and has to dumb it down for us plebs.
I’m 60 soon, and have spent most of the last 30 years in the motor trade hardly eating during the day, sometimes digestive biscuits or the odd sandwich on the run. However , having a laugh seems to work wonders even during stressful times. One things for sure, I’ll be damned if I want to be as slow as a 200 year old tortoise 😏 Love Joe, he’s such a natural, he’s no lab mouse😀. ❤️
I can’t believe that with all the mouse testing we’ve done in the country that there’s not some freaky super mice out there that not only survived but broke out of their cages and are running around in super packs causing havoc and destruction in alleys all across the country. I could see some of them wearing cool leather outfits, sportin ink and bandanas.
David Blocklinger I was gonnna say I think Bernie is like 996 years old, and the first super mouse of his kind who's recently verified characteristics listed in the original comment 😂
Within fifty years it will be. The youth will be given a choice. Age and deteriorate like your elders or maintain your youth and vitality for as long as you'd like.
Honestly, if I could live mainly off of fruit for my whole life with no consequences I would. But watching how quickly fruitarians age gives me nightmares. Fruit sugars are still sugars 😭
KaylaNoelle1 Fruit sugars literally are sugar, but eating a whole piece of fruit is not the same as eating isolated fruit sugars. Eating a date is different than eating a date's worth of corn syrup. However, eating just fruit is not as nutritionally complete as eating a varied whole food plant based diet without added sugars or oil. Animal fats also reduce insulin sensitivity which is why cutting carbs only masks symptoms of type 2 diabetes while a whole food plant based diet can cure it.
automaton111 Very little evidence that meat reduces insulin sensitivity to any significant or important degree - hardly as harmful of a degree as fructose and glucose by any nature. The insulin spike you get from protein has little to do with the insulin spike you get from glucose because it is moderated by the release of glucagon. Fruits are little sugar bombs, especially modern fruits that have been genetically engineered to maximize its sugar content. I'll tell you the diet that would fix almost all of American metabolic problems: Beef, kale, broccoli, spinach, and salmon. Chicken and other meat/fish are okay, but not as nutritious.
I’m glad this guy came on the show for sure, because i was wondering what kind of things he actually took to extend his life, honestly for 50 years old he looks pretty good for sure.
"Aging isn't a disease..... yet." Wow I'd love to love in the future where you can buy anti aging supplements and everyone looks under 30. You'll also know that your partner won't end up looking like a prune - lucky bastards.
This video is about how to take care of your age, not how to not look 50. Dyeing you're hair at 50 is a sad way to live 😘 "good genetics" lmao get off the computer and go play outside kid damn
闇 what are you talking about. Genetics play a massive role. I look at least ten years younger than all my friends and i don’t do anything they don’t do. I don’t necessarily think i have great genetics but my family looks young for their age
Some things to consider paradigm wise: Maybe forcing the body into putting so much energy into digestion is actually aging us more quickly. The body needs a break. It needs to be allowed to put the foods it digested to use and focus on doing so. Let the brain take on the focus of energy use. Opposite of a food coma. When you eat a ton, you get sleepy. Your body is getting tired from focusing energy on digestion, and your brain goes into “low power mode” so to speak, as the blood supply floods your abdomen. Take a break from eating, and the digestive system can clean itself, relax, and the brain can go back into performance mode. Cycling things in the body so often could be part of what’s aging us. Monks who fast like mad look younger, and learn how to stress less. Their emotionality is reduced, as their addiction to food is more regulated. They can control their mind and body better than anyone as they practice not giving in to cravings of any kind. There’s a reason ancient religions and societies have fasting rituals. Good for the mind, and body.
yes, it's cycling, i don't think you put it that well the body have time to eat and metabolism and there are times for anabolism when you keep it only doing one thing it destroy itself one way to go close to intermittent fasting if you can't do it bc of work or doing sport is only to eat in the day, and at night, no food, or only salads as a muslim we fast one month in ramadhan and basically we split the day in two and we fast the day and eat the night i think it puts the body way more in calories deprivation like this and stimulate defenses modes but alas, most muslim counrties abuse sugars and sweets during that month so kinda counter-productive in the wild, most animals don't eat all day like humans do, they find food and eat for a few days, then feel hunger for a few days and they stay fit because they move and burn all callories and then they have to go into economy mode and their body clean itself
I thought it is very obvious. We digest food to put fat on to survive colder harsher winters. If we stop doing this we should last longer. If we can only use low power in our wiring which is how I see this in analogy form.
I've just been reading that resveratrol only remains in the human body for 14 minutes and that another antioxidant by the name of pterostilbene is 80% more effective. It's also very very pricey to buy as a supplement (from Novos). No wonder rich people look so good. They can afford all the good food (salmon = omega 3), good plastic surgeons, good skin products, good supplements, good dentists. Ah well...😄
I am not so sure Dr has research MTOR in depth. He didn't sound very confident or convincing. Nor did he say how much is ok, or how much he consumes. Though he eats meat he doesn't seem to eat a lot of any foods.
@@stuart3690 So by your logic if we place a herbivore in a setting with only other herbivores they will eat each other? 🤔I’d love to see that theory in action. I’d be willing to bet they would die of starvation. If humans were natural herbivores eating meat or wearing fur would have never crossed our minds. Your logic is severely flawed but I expect nothing less from a vegan.
@@stuart3690 Humans are natural omnivores the proof is in our teeth. We have canines like all carnivores and molars similar to herbivores making humans natural omnivores. Chemically, we lack cellulases or cellulosic symbionts that many herbivores have, and have lots of proteases that carnivores do. But we do have sucrases that let us digest fruits. Humans require vitamin B12 to thrive, which can only come from animal sources or certain bacteria (vegans must supplement their diet). We also require vitamin C, which is present in citrus fruits and organ meat, the latter probably being our evolutionary ancestor’s main source. Interestingly, we have very powerful livers (the detoxification organ) and a very strong ability to smell rot/decay/decomposition relative to other animals. This suggests we may have evolved as scavengers, eating dead (but not too decayed) carcasses killed by other animals. No sir your viewpoint is not based in fact or by logic but one of emotion and willful ignorance. You suggesting I’m emotional only you projecting your insecurities onto me but nice try though.
Ok so I’ve been a carnivore for 8 years and at 47 I look like 35. People can’t believe I’m 47. I don’t do intermittent fasting but twice a year I’ll go on an extended fast for a few days. I have been aging backwards since I stopped eating vegetables and fruits and focus on eating at least 80% of my diet in red meat and eggs. The other 20% is chicken, pork, dairies and cold cuts or sausages. My skin looks amazing and I feel amazing and I have no pains and aches, no inflammation and no wrinkles. How can they say red meat is bad for aging?!
He only takes a small amount to help uptake of resveratrol & NMN. Doubt it affects it 8 hrs fasting ×'s 2 is more than most if not the perfect ideal. Looks slimmer & healthier than most. His dad looks great also. In his 80's, working out, traveling a lot etc
Not exactly. I was 220 lbs with advanced heart disease plus a whole list of other stuff going on. I was sort of happy but felt crappy a lot living past 70 was not looking good. Now I'm 168 lbs, no ideas about my heart yet but everything else is way better. My run times are good, my weightlifting has dramatically improved. Daily life is far more pleasant. I'm doing about half of what this guy recommends. Now life past 70 actually looks desirable.
If it's a low calorie full fat yogurt it probably won't spike insulin and igf-1 that much and he'll be back into fasted state quickly. And he says he eats at night so this might be his last meal?
