As an American, my main problem with American scapegoating of China and Sinophobia is that it is only self-destructive for the US. Scapegoating others helps you lie to yourself about your failures, but the truth never goes away. The Chinese economy will survive a Cold War, but it will be the beginning of the end for the US economy

As an American, every day that I wake up and see that my government has fallen more rampantly, and more blatantly towards fascist tactics the world over in order to enforce economic and political hegemony, it makes me sick to my stomach with regards to the future and also of world peace. China is also one of the only major powers in the world that is negotiating for peace in Gaza, unlike our complicit and enthusiastically violent government (The U.S.) with regards to the genocide ongoing now since 1947.. Zelensky was warned several times by Putin not to do it but he went ahead with it anyway and Putin had to act. This is why the Ukrainian issue has been likened to the Cuban missile crises in the 1960s when the U.S. felt threatened at the time and threatened WW3 if the U.S.S.R. went ahead with its setting up of missile bases in Cuba.

So why are they singling out China? Considering that the West has a long history of invasion and occupation, many see their stance on Russia as being hypocritical.

I find no difficulty in seeing thro it, but whether that is the same as beating it depends what you mean by beating it. Most US criticisms of China are justified, but I think there is some exaggeration of the shortcomings in Chinas human rights record.

Why not move to China or Singapore. I am a Canadian and moved to China 23 years ago. Best decision ever. The word asian american is so far away from me now and their issues are actually becoming more alien to me even though I am still Chinese Canadian. When I live in Canada, some people don't treat me like their own. Now in China, everyone treat me like local even though I am actually a foreigner. Live with dignity and respect. You should be proud of your heritage and identity and should never fear going to public places. If you feel afraid and cannot do anything to change it, then move to a better place where you will be respected. China will always be for the Chinese people no matter what nationalities you have. Now it is much easier to get permanent resident permit in China.

Excellent programme, and so factual. My interpretation of the anti China issue (which is based on over 77 years of first hand fact & knowledge) is that for many years, China was always seen as a backward country, one which didn't recognise patents and produced cheap copies of anything you can mention, to the world. Fortunately, it's working it's way out of that scenario now. However, when it comes to the positive side of things, no mention is made (by the US primarily) of the Chinese achievements in this world. Just in the US, the Chinese built the Western section of their Transcontinental railway. The most difficult part through the mountains from the West Coast through to the great deserts beyond. More recently, Chinese built the new Bay Bridge in SFO, underquoting almost a dozen other bidders, (who pulled out when they heard of the Chinese bid). That bridge was built under time & under budget, yet no plaudits are given to the Chinese who built it. In my country, (New Zealand) which is very much influenced by the US propaganda machine, Chinese were very involved in the mining of gold in the early years when no-one else wanted to do it. After WW2, many chinese were brought to this country to farm our market gardens, which they did so successfully, when no NZer wanted to do it. The list goes on. I think that today, the US has realised that China is smarter than they are in so many ways, that their position as (self appointed) world leader is under threat & the only way they can best overcome that, is by verbally denigrating them. President Trump did possibly the most damage with his constant China bashing while he was in power. And through the influence of US backed world media, we and other nations followed suit. Asian Americans play a significant role in US science and technology but are way under-represented in American politics. Many are leaving the US for places like Singapore and China. Anti-China hate is a bipartisan affair. Even the few Asian American representatives in Congress are too meek to pushback against the hate.

I've noticed since 2020, so many Chinese Culture centers around this country have shut down, it's very sad, as they were community centers as well. It also says so much that FARA is used to go after US nationals who want to make relationships between Chinese American community with Chinese consulate. There's been stuff in AAPI community going like "we're asian but we're also american!! we're american!!" trying to garner acceptance into wider American populace, but then there's this, right. The national security law does not mean HK has less freedom and democracy. Every country has national security laws. USA's laws are more draconian. UK's laws are more draconian. China's law is pretty mild by comparison. HK should still be #1 for freedom and democracy.
There was an interesting video clip that put two pictures side by side of US Olympic athletes and Chinese. On one side are the US swimmers with purple faces. One of the US swimmers is an Asian American(possibly Chinese American) yet still with a purple face. While the other picture shows both Chinese swimmers without the purple face. Now the content creator of that video clip says that the purpuling of the face of the US swimmers. Is due to the use of performance drugs. Which the efforts of swimming causes the purpuling of the face. Now I don't know the facts of this claim of the content creator. But if it's true. Then it definitely answers who is the baddies of this whole China cheating projection narrative. As to the anti China BS ramped up by Trump and further antagonized by Biden and others. I remember clearly having people tell me to get the F out of their country. I also remember being asked by a white Dunkin Donuts employee, if I was legal. And the research from the rest of the world (especially US) have author lists with about half of the names being from the Far East. If these researchers are benched thru concerns about their loyalty, the west will suffer a further fall-back in science and engineering. My 9 years old daughter, 10th birthday today 15 August, has been thinking how to infuse life on the moon surface, we’ve thought of rock lichens, polar bacteria and microscopic algae, thinking on how to trigger a biological process we know it would take millennia, hoping it can enrich the very thin lunar atmosphere to include oxygen enough for supporting forms of vegetation… eventually animals in a far away future. This happened in Australia as well. People who have been promoting relationship between students in universities and Chinese cultures were blackened as spying and coercion. Chinese people who work as lobbyists in Australian government promoting Chinese businesses and projects were suddenly seen as foreign agents (especially if they had prior or current membership in the CCP) and any Australian politician working with such people would be treated as traitor and defamed or lose their jobs. It was on a roll. Every week there was a TV feature on some Chinese spies. Front page news every alternate days. Australia got served with an ice cold shoulder from China but Australia got furious and humiliated. To this day the Foreign Minister is trying to renew the business deals and return trade to previous levels. This episode was frustrating but also laughable now that everyone saw the impact of that cold shoulder! Australia can't afford to fight China, but it's following its big brother US. When will Australia realize that US can't save them when things go bad?

I only come across Chinese nationals in online gaming , apart from amusing translation difficulties , it is clear that the Chinese as a whole are a friendly and proud of their achievements people without the resources and colonial robbery the west enjoyed . Year in year out for decades things have improved for the average person living in China and their positivity is catching . Personally i love the ebike components they export , brilliant stuff and great prices .
