I'm a North Carolinian and It disgusts me that I had never heard of the Wilmington coup d'etat and massacre until I was over 40 years of age. It was never mentioned in elementary, middle, or high school history classes, but then, neither was the Tulsa Massacre, Emmett Till, or for that matter anything about the Jim Crow era.
America runs and hides from her history and that's what this push back against CRT is all about. Even though CRT is a graduate school elective course they want to pass laws to stop their real history from being taught in schools, because the genealogy of their history is pertinent to how the law works today. They want school teachers to be afraid to teach the truth.
Why do we have to have a bill or law to do what is morally and ethically right? What happened to Common Sense? Morals? Decency? You Go Girl! We need more people telling it like it is!
On museums: Replica exists. Exhibits are going to be replica anyway, the originals can be left with their people instead of a vault under a foreign museum!
The only function the senate actually performs is to throw out legislation they don't like that the house already passed. The House is a democratic institution, it's seats are appointed according to population, while the senate is an anti-democratic institution, it's seats are appointed equally according to state regardless of their populations. That gives smaller, less populous states much more legislative power than populous ones, along with the ability to subvert the democratic process any time the legislation isn't to their liking. Democracy would work a lot better without it.
It is shoring up the bases. The same thing amongst democrats and Republicans. They are one in the same ppl providing checks and balances so that the masses won't rebel. This has been done in the U.S. since the Puritans, Whigs, and other parties.
Thank you Amber, I have learned so much from you! I just wish the commercials on RU-vid that interrupt your show were in line with you! Watching a guy in camo gear talking about being prepared for whatever is kind of creepy!
I'd love an Omaha origin story. The history of race there is remarkable. But then again, every town probably has a Will Brown story with a tragedy at a courthouse. How did we get here? But, why are we still here?
I'm Belgian and a couple of years ago I visited the Art and History Museum in Brussels. I was shocked that it still had a giant statue of King Leopold II. Since then there's been a lot of debate in our country about still displaying his statues, but I wonder if the one that I saw is still there. Belgium moves frustratingly slow in a lot of ways.
Yep the trauma continues daily but eyes are turned to the otherside. Yet, we glamorize trauma treatment while at the same time denying trauma. You cannot make these things up at all.
Considering how congress works, it's not that shocking that an anti Lynching bill took more than 100 years to pass. Doesn't make it qny better though. We apparently still need that bill now more than ever.
...foster care segment...imo, the end game of abolishing roe vs wade... the number of children that will be removed from their mothers/homes will be stagerring... wait and see...js

I sincerely hope you are outside of New York when it's Destroyed. Rev 17 through 18. Seven hills where the woman sits , are the islands (Mountain Tops). For the mind that has wisdom, knowing that unseen mountain is underwater.
