Rishi Sunak has revealed plans to introduce new legislation to ensure that a minimum of 40% of rail services are provided on strike days. It is expected that similar legislation could come into place for emergency services.

I will not support a strike by anyone from any rail company until prices come down. £93 pounds for a return from Stoke-on-Trent to Oxford is bloody absurd. £216 pounds for a weekly season ticket "discounted", £800+ for a monthly. And those are bloody standard. I am sorry but the unions can shove their strikes while prices are pushed so damned high. We have one of the worst rail services in europe and one of the worst average fares in europe. Meanwhile in Spain; Madrid to barcelona; £8.50. Quoted by trainline. You cannot make it up.

@adventofknowledge Your argument nd grievance is with the management and owners of the railway companies. The workers and their union has nothing to do with any pricing policies. To pretend (and blame) anyone else is as dishonest and disingenuous as JHB is being in this "interview"
