I mean they were a thing before any kind of contact in the 1500's the original antichuchos were made of llama heart by the incans

You’re absolutely correct…although the modern version reflects more of the colonial era which was influenced by the Spaniards and African slaves

Slaves created almost every tasty and delicious dish in the Americas: , Southern American soul food, Caribbean, Central America and South America. Their West African heritage allowed them to carry over the base seasonings of garlic, ginger and onion, plus herbs native to their lands and ingredients we use here in West Africa. They infused it with whatever was available in their new lands. ❤

We love beef anticuchos! They are so good. Want to try the halibut anticuchos, they look delicious!!

you are supposed to make small cuts while grilling to make them more tender

@JoseTorres Yes, I cut them thin and on a bias (rather then small cubes) so that they get the most surface exposure while grilling. It’s a chef trick that makes the meat just as tender. Thanks for watching!
