No-one needs to be on anti-depressants for such a long time! Sort your life out and get off them please, for your own sake. If you do take any notice of this advice make sure you wean off slowly. Any doctor giving you these sorts of drugs for such a long time is not the sort of person you should be getting advice from. Change your doctor!

@@kylekeenan3485 It's complicated. I tried quitting cold turkey (my stupid decision) and obviously I had to come back because the bouncing effect made it worse. Later I tried to quit a bit slower and everything was going alright until I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and I felt in a deeper depression. Wasn't the time to quit nor risk to fall back since mood is very important in that disease. Now I'm stable with the MS and again cutting in the anti depressants slowly. I don't take too much right now. Just 1 pill ,10mg. I'm not planning in taking it forever unlike finasteride.

The key I think also, is not to have too high expectations when taking finasteride. I think some of the people that got depression due to finasteride wasn’t because of the meds but because they expected it to solve all their problems but in some cases, It didn’t..

I understand your point because I found that myself. I remember I felt very low at the time of starting finastride back in the day, and I wasn't on a antidepressants. All I can say is lexapro changed my life for the better and it was the best thing I've ever done. Tell you the truth it was 10 years overdue.

If your not losing your hair, I definitely wouldn't use it until you need in the future. The less, the better.

@@graeme1744 well not so much losing it but my hair line has definitely slightly receded and thinned a bit. so i figured might as well get on top of it rather than waiting until there's an obvious visual difference and much harder to get back lol but I'm not just taking it for the fun of it I assure you

@@zakkimohammed1986 hair has stayed the same so far and that’s all I could ask for! I just take mon, wed, fri. Absolutely 0 side effects. Again I still have a good head of hair but it seems to be doing it’s job thus far.

I’m the same no side affects from finasteride and been depressed for years, just as depressed as before but my hair is looking great so I’m considering going on antidepressants now too to try and sort that problem out aswell just curious how it’ll interact with the finasteride

Try to lower the dose or the frequency but I think is as you said and as a panic disorder suffering patient you know exactly how a fake imaginary thing can give you a physical symptoms and it looks very real but is not and not real at all and the internet makes fin looks like gambling 🎰 with your health but do you think the FDA and the dermatologist of the entire earth will prescribe it without their eyes blinks if they know it will harm you that much “you start to think about the medication 💊 and get worried allot and get panic attacks again because this stress “don’t think about it just take the pill and think it will just lower the trash DHT hormone and makes your testo high wish is good I know some people get more sexually active because this is not something usually happen but this people they didn’t even know what they are talking they went to the doctor the doctor prescribed fin they went to the pharmacy they get it and they start to take it and they never search the internet about what they are talking so relaxed life lol hopefully you will get better good luck

Same question here. Can you take Novaldex with finasteride?

I got unilateral gyno from fin and started taking arimidex 0.25mg 2x/week now so we will see what happens, for now gyno stopped growing, will go to surgery later for full removal so i can take it without AI.

gtagh have you noticed if the nipples pain and sensitivity went away or is getting better since taking the arimidex? Also, is it possible for the gynecomastia to grow again after having the surgery to remove the lumps? I was told I could have surgery but mine were not big and the fat was not as bad so I didn’t bother with it. I just notice when I start taking fin or duta, there’s a sensitivity (warm feeling).

Take a month off, and then start again at 0.5mg

I can actually feel a small lump under my nipple, I think I got gynecomastia from fin... very disappointing

@@graeme1744 Yeah I went through extensive CBT to "fix" my GAD and OCD, but as we know, there's no cure for these conditions. But I didn't know so many people take antidepressants.

They are lying about the number to sell pills. America is the most drugged out country. All the medical institutions are funded by drug companies or health insurance companies. 70 percent of the fda is funded by pharma, the ppl they are regulating are the ones paying their bills. Politicians are all lobbied by pharmaceuticals and health insurance companies. Just follow the money to find the truth

I've cut creatine out now, definately notice a difference when I'm on creatine. Hard to tell now I'm on fin. But i've cut it out regardless.

was there any negative affects to your hair after lowering the dosage?

Logically more testosterone means = more conversion to DHT, therefore more hair loss. but like everything in biology, nothing is 1+1=2...

dutasteride has a higher molecular weight and crosses the blood-brain barrier far less than fin

Cassiopeia is making a topical anti andorgen but it won't come out for years, at least Fin and Minox are safe and effective, just aim on the lower end of dosing

All vitamins are essential for hair growth and much more... but if you have a hormone like DHT coming in and burning down your hair follicles, no amount of any vitamin is going to fix that problem.

1mg everyday is too much. they recommended 1mg for 3 times a week.

So take it every other day, and take a two week break every three months in case of build up

Just love and accept the way you are and don't risk taking it anymore if you got your sexuality back 🙂.

Try add Minoxidil and dermorolling

@@rajeshmishra3451 I’ve started using topical finasteride compounded with Minoxidil(both 5%). As far as the results are concerned, I am not sure I can keep a tab on it to compare. It’s been a month

You can combine them no problem, but creatine can accelerate hair loss. That’s the reason I stopped creatine

what about the sexual sides? I''m on lexapro and I've experienced a slight loss of libido. nothing major. Did fin have any effect on that?

@@hanscastorp1945 not that I recall. Just odd brain fog - but it might have been all in my head - no pun intended. Will start again but do a low dosage for starters.

SSRIs and Fin are a bad mix if sexual function is your concern, try to keep both at the lowest dosages possible

@@_baller thx man. Been on fin again at a low dosage and citalapragm for a week. So far so good.

The earlier the better. You still can do some PRP to strengthen your hair, but the main thing that can prevent further hair loss is Fina. Start it, now!

Fin more effective than PRP

Minoxidil does not prevent hair loss, it only stimulates hair growth but it won't stop your hair follicles from dying. Finasteride prevents hair loss and it stops your follicles from miniaturizing. You should have started the finasteride first before the minoxidil.

Well yeah 1mg lowers DHT greater than 0.5mg, and the tissue half life last longer than a few days so 1mg would be more effective

I would say if you’re obese your chances to your. Because obesity itself is linked to depression and low T and all those issues are worse when you’re obese. And body fat is the a man producer of estrogen in the body! So lose weight if you have to before going on the drug, IMO. Eat healthy, lift down weights, etc.

Your gene is affected by DHT. One of the ways to counter your gene is DHT blockers, not hair simulation (it would only give you short-term effects taking minoxidile).
