This was an interesting fix. For the most part it was straight forward. Those brush holders were new to me. Great design but a pain to get back on.
it took Me about an hour so that's why a sped it up for Y'all.
I'll do a full restoration on Her some day. I'm happy now because I have an old vacuum to use. Works pretty darn good too.

Yup. It seems like everything was made to be worked on & fixed. That whole motor cleaned up so well. There was so much nasty stuff in the bag and on that brush. That hair must’ve been from some lady a 100 years ago. Haha. I love this old stuff.

Very nice preservation. The motor on that old vacuum is beautiful. It looks like it works great.

Yeah… Those Antique Robbins & Myers Motors are Beautiful indeed. From some research, the R&M motors were last used on the Hoover model 102. My 105 shouldn’t have this motor on it. I wonder if Hoover just used up all their R&M motors on the early 105s. Hopefully there’s some knowledgeable Hoover fans watching this video so they can tell me what gives… Thanks Ivan. Time to find something else to bring back into working order.

Very Nice ! I really liked the hand cleaner trick and the plier downsizing……using the proper tool for the job. Just think, if you had new brushed for that head bar and a bumper strip for around the power head, that bad boy would be better then new!! Great job, Again! The video technique and camera work…….FANtastic 👍👏🇺🇸🫡 Rick

Thank You First Sergeant. I got bored after work yesterday so I just did this little project to see if I could get Her to work again. I was surprised to see how well everything spun freely. There was so much oil in there. That’s what probably saved Her. I’m trying to figure out how to install some bristles in the roller brush thing. Now you got me think’n about the bumper strip. Let’s see what I can come up with. I want to shine everything up too. Oh and the wood handle…. She’s pretty now, just wait til I get done with Her. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

And the gojo hand cleaner is an old trick to clean up old sewing machines. Works great. No pumice though. That’ll scratch everything.

@@spiderlovesbeerohyeah4760 Would a piece of windshield/door seal work for the wrap the head part? Thanks for a number of more great lessons! I agree, now that is running great, go for it and make her shine 👍👏🇺🇸

@@spiderlovesbeerohyeah4760 Another great lesson! I think that is FAntastic 👍👏🇺🇸 Another question, if I may…….what size cooler are you using for your Evaporust? I think I need at least a 20” bottom, so I’m guessing over a 50qt……Hmmmmmmm Another great idea on your part, use it, pull the plug, back in the 5 gal jug…….Brilliant 👍🇺🇸

@@Living-The-Dream I’m not sure how many quarts but She’s 24” long, 13” wide & 15” tall. She’s perfect for most of my projects but there’s time I wish She was a little wider. I’ve been looking at yard sales for an old beater that’ll still old liquid.
