Hi Amanda! I have shopped your booth for years and I love your style. I feel like I gravitate towards a similar style when decorating my home and I always find treasures in your booth. I want to take a moment to encourage you because you are doing a great job! I would love to have a booth somewhere one day, just can't seem to find the time in this season of life. I am really enjoying the videos, thanks for sharing! Have a very Merry Christmas!
I would have your clothing on a movable rack, on wheels, would be a huge time-saver for you. All that goodness in your storage unit could go to your booth space, people are always looking for glasses & giftware this time of year. Love your booth space!!
A lot of antique dealers and creative types are visual thinkers - and can “see” spaces in their heads. It’s a gift. Most people don’t have that ability. It took me 40 years to figure that out. 🤪
There was a MASSIVE brick plant in southeast Kansas. The owner built a brick mansion next to the factory buildings, partly as an advertisement but perhaps a bit of self indulgent vanity was involved too. Every other building on the site was built of brick too. I'm sure it was a hopping place back in the day. Kind of sad seeing it all abandoned and overgrown now.
I am the same way and can decorate a home just in my head. When I was young, we moved all the time in the Air Force and would use our same stuff different ways in these houses. Then as an adult, I would visit someone and move their furniture around in my head so it would look better. I too had an antique mall booth that did well for 6 years but quit when the grandkids started coming. I also became a decorator and finally retired from that. You remind me of me and even look a lot like my oldest sister. Love your vlog and have been binging it!
Not me girl, I can’t see or visualize anything. We built a house once and my hubby explained exactly how the windows were going to look in the wall structure and I said ok, but when he built it, I hated it and made him MOVE the window including the header. Love my guy for 50 years!
I know what you mean about seeing pictures in your head. I do the same thing. I see things in a squiggle, a lump of anything, or the usual: clouds. I can make something beautiful out of trash. I believe it is a factor of creativity or artistic ability. Congratulations, you're talented.
LEAVE THE DINING ROOM WHERE IT IS...IT LOOKS FANTASTIC THERE. I SENT YOU AN EMAIL ABOUT CORAL....I HOPE YOU HAVE TIME TO EMAIL ME. I WILL SEND PICTURES OF WHAT I HAVE.
New to your channel, but love all the videos! I binge watched. lol. I personally like more decoration/products in your front "dining area," but potentially remove the "wall" or take one or a few panels out so you can access to the other side better, and people would know that the both areas belong to you. I personally would not think the dining area and the other area are from the same seller.
Amanda .. seeing things in your mind means you're a decorator .. you come by it naturally ! Seeing a fab dining room in the front of the booth is good -- draws people to come in ( like the cover of Pottery Barn ) Clothing looks good on that rail but you'll know where to put it when you start moving things around -- looking forward to seeing the result !
Oh my gosh yes! My brain works the same way, I can see exactly what I want a space to look like. Always rearranging in my head, or designing furniture flips in my mind. It's an awesome way to be😉🙌🏽
After the clothes rack is moved to the main wall, there is a way to brace it to be very sturdy. By putting a couple "T" pipe fittings in the long pipe and inserting a pipe in them running down to the wall at around a 45 degree angle, it will act like a shelf brace. Then you can put a lot more weight on it with no fear of sagging. Hard to describe without a sketch, but hopefully you can picture it in your mind, since you have that capability 😃
I like styling my booth as if it's a miniature house. Like u said, a lot of people can't invision things & this def helps. Plus it encourages them to find things they didn't know they needed! Doesn't need to be huge. Just enough to jump start their imagination. Love the dining area but think it could use a few more pieces. Do u have a decorative clothes rack on wheels? Those are really nice to have. "Libraries" & "entrance ways" are two other big hits for me & u can fit a lot in those areas, if needed. That bookcase would be perfect in the "library" & something like that sm vignette u had set up in your storage locker would be great for your "entrance" or even the bookcase in the "library". Main thing is to just have fun w it! Can't wait to see what u do!
I’m visual as well. I can memorize everything in a store, as well, as prices. I plan my garden in my head. So, it’s distressing to me to think there are people who can’t get a picture in their head and turn objects .
New subscriber here, love your videos. Love the “booth reset” videos and the new layout with that “dining room/kitchen table” room... I wouldn’t move the clothes there, maybe place some more statement pieces on the table like a beautiful large center piece with flowers, red flowers or green mossy grass or something. It needs a pop of color to warm up and maybe connect with Christmas season... just an opinion.
Hello Amanda. Yes that table set up in your storage shed, should be in your shop. I feel that your shop looks a little lean. You need more stuff out in there. Your idea in your head sounds good to me but, you need more items to put in there. Those mirrors, those pictures all should be in your shop.If it is in your storage unit, your clients can not see what you have for sale. Just a suggestion. However, I love your shop. I wish I lived closer so I could buy some of it.
Laura Caldwell who has a youtube channel has said that she cannot visualize things in her head and she is such a great decorator. Incredible. There is a name for that, but I can't remember what she called it.
I can visualize too. Surprising how many people who say they can’t. I’ve always known exactly where each piece of furniture will go before I move into a new home. 👍. Artwork too!
When you said "sorry creepy lady" in your storage unit for some reason it cracked me up. 🤣🤣🤣I miss operating a vintage booth space. I knew it was time to go when I purchased more than I sold. 🙃
You must be told often that you have a decorator’s eye. Like you, I can picture space and design in my head. With your talent and wonderful personality, I wouldn’t be surprised if you, at some point, add interior design to your repertoire. Best of luck to you!
Wow Amanda! when I'm at work I catch myself rearranging my living room furniture in my head. I would have to write it down because I suffer from brain fog from my MS. I love your channel I'm in love with antiques.
I'm thoroughly enjoying your Vlogmas videos. I told my husband our next road trip needs to include visiting the antique mall where your space is located. I love everything I see there...LOL.
Amanda, our wonderful bodies do magical things. When some people look at numbers they smell different scents or actually see visions in the numbers themselves. Crazy, huh!!!!!
You have done such a good job with everything you do ! This is coming from a 79 year old woman who has loved antiques since l was 18 years old . You have great eye so go with your pictures you work with in your mind , your very lucky to have a great mind . I have watched all of your videos , some a few times .
I really like your sense of style and you were asking for people's opinions on your booth. I like them but I feel it needs more in it to draw me into the rooms/vignettes. Maybe quite a bit more smalls. It's a little too modern for the type of decor. I do love just about everything you get. Next time you come to Ga.,come up 75 N. To 575/515 thru jasper and ellijay. Ellijay has alot of antique stores with better prices. Blue Ridge is chock full of everything..a little more pricey but all alot cheaper than Savannah ❤️
I do not have that gift!! Lol Sad thing is, I made wedding cakes for years! Just bring me a picture and I can copy anything. But to see a design in my head? Nope! Doesn’t happen!
Iam new to your channel, can i make a suggestion on your Booth. You have some lovely items but it can do with some green plants to break up all the browns, creams, tan.Just a thought.
Since it's the holidays, why not add some festive color with greenery and pops of red in your booth? It would add a festive feeling and softer texture here and there.
🌨 ❄️❄️ ☃️ I Live in Utah. I got up at 6am got ready to go to restock my Antique Booth & it was 7 degrees ❄️. Left my Booth @ 1:30pm and the temperature was 17 Degrees!! I’m For some SNOW IT WILL BRING SOME WARMER WEATHER.
Love the shelves in your storage unit. Do you mind sharing where you got them? I’ve been looking all over and only found ones at IKEA- which is far away! Thanks!
I’d just buy a Z Rack for the clothes. Heavy duty , on casters, And you can move them around easily. Or even a nice wooden rack, which would look good, and usually comes with a shoe shelf on the bottom.
Suggestion maybe buy some really strong totes that are clear on the sides so that for all of the small items in your storage unit you can group them with like categories, see through the sides of them, and would have more time if you need to rearrange your storage unit then picking them up all one by one.By keeping some bubble wrap in the totes would also help prevent breakage. Just a suggestion, keep up the great videos!
As cold as it was, I would have probably gone ahead and moved the booth around like you said, sounds like great idea. Also you need a free standing rack of some kind for your clothes, can be made out of plumbing pre-threaded pipe. The old door you looked at in the beginning of the video, would there be away to take it apart and then you could get 2 tables out of it?
Yes! I was really surprised when I found that out about people. It also leads to me being very frustrated that I can see how it should look, but no one else wants to do it cause they can’t picture it. Paired with the lack of of ability to relate what I am thinking, it’s probably my most annoying talent.
