The Meteor typewriter was made in Dresden, Germany from 1911-1922, then changed to Vansanta till 1925. The Saxon knitting machine factory was the manufacturer, but in Vansanta years they renamed and moved to the Alberstadt district. The quantity of these typewriters produced is unknown. A Meteor typewriter was used by printers on Wspólna Street, so one wound up in the Warsaw Uprising Museum apparently. It's a 3-bank typewriter and mine is a model 2 (vs. a model 1 which only ran till 1913), so is susposed to be 5 kg lighter, and when they were new costed 225 Mark. This is a machine layman can't do much for, so really might want to take to a specialist to make run . . . I mean unless you know what Rück Transport is all about! This is NOT a folding machine!
