@@deadlyaak5119 wait so you’re saying he didn’t purchase 3k worth of equipment to restore a $2.00 knife and then throw the equipment away after that? Man I always thought machinery was only 1 time use. It all makes sense to me now. Thank you
I have these playing while I sit with my 10 month old in the mornings and let him roll around and play. You are apparently more interesting than Cocomelon is to him and I’m completely OK with that.
He is honestly one of the best creators on the platform. just watching these videos gives me such an adrenaline rush. the stuff he does is crazy. keep it up man.
Currently restoring a 100 year old cleaver of my own and was looking for ideas. While my cleaver is nothing like yours i just gotta say thats some nice craftsmanship you got there. I spent a few hours today welding my pits full and grinding them back smooth, hopefully tomorrow i can get it finished up and then its time to make it pretty and put a handle together with walnut. Thanks for the motivation!
Well, I still read all the comments, even though I had to stay away from the workshop for a while because of health reasons. This channel is really a passion project, I really love tools, so I enjoy reading people's comments about them.
Guy pretty much just used his lathe for everything. You can get a good used lathe for a few hundred bucks. As long as your planning to repair at least 1-200 meat cleavers you'll break even
“Has some issues” The Handel: *broke af* The rust: *im everywhere!* The blade: *”please.... kill me already”* This guy: *”you are being saved, do not resist”*
Dear parents, just because your child is smiling at their phone, doesn't mean they have boyfriend or girlfriend, they are just watching this masterpiece!!
@@turtlethewurtle4656 and quite a bit RU-vid pays an average of $4 per 1000 veiws If my math is right that's 288,000 dollars. Since this video got 72 million veiws
@@thatoneblackid6968 just the loose rust hanging on the knife but wont remove the rusted metal itself.. its kind of just like removing dirt on ur skin with water, but it wont totally clean it since germs from the dirt is still there.
I'm thinking probably not. I'm sure the cleaver wasn't pitted when it was brand new, and the purpose of a restoration isn't to add more pitting, its to restore how an item looked when it was new. He changed the shape of the cleaver, and the handle. This wasn't a restoration, more like a refurbishment.
No ear-cringe music, no annoying voiceover, no tediously long demonstrations, no condescending explanations. Just a solid display of competence in a beautifying project, with all its tools and transformation. I couldn't stop watching, skip ahead, or look away, absolutely transfixed from beginning to end. Good job.
Never, Never use gloves with a lathe. The glove can become caught and you may lose a finger or worse. The same applies with a drill press, table saw, band saw, stationary wire brush wheel etc.
Me : I need to go to bed , it’s late and I have to do important stuff in the morning RU-vid : 100 year old cleaver restoration Me : ahh shit here we go again
Not understanding keeping and adding pock marks, especially if it's going to be used in a kitchen. Pock marks hold bacteria. Everything thing else was fantastic!!
Everything looks amazing! The one thing I would change "as a butcher" is the handle. The handle needs to be squared instead of round. The reason being blood makes the cleaver rotate in hand with it being round. Still very impressed!
@Dubb no you did not you are probably the age of 12. you don't have to say that you broke a katana if you never restored one. A 400-year-old katana is worth upwards to 1k in USD. You are making KSP Videos for god sake. Just saying don't claim stuff if you have never done it, please.

Wearing gloves while using this sort of machinery is actually more dangerous, as they can get caught leading to your hands getting ripped up much worse than if you're not wearing gloves
actually if we did this there would be a reduction on resources like metal so technically its just the same thing but the recycled has a bit more benefits
I just took 11 minutes of my time, watching somebody repair a utensil. At 10pm. When I most definitely have homework and school tommorow. Do I regret it? No. Will I in a few hours? Yes.
