The reasons why I love this channel is b/c the houses yes, but the actions between you and your crew are hilarious and family oriented.

So your pal was completely confident that the rifle didn't have a live round in the chamber and that it wasn't cocked - ? An abandoned rifle of that age, either was perfectly possible, especially as munitions become very temperamental when they're badly stored.

Another great. video the coat hook comes from a school cloak room, the wood/ brass thing by the fireplace is a magazine rack for the papers, the gun is a 4: 10 single shot bolt action by Webley . the lamp in the window upstairs is a paraffin oil lamp

I don't see these older houses as small, people were shorter and less robust back even in the '70's. Before all the preservatives and such in the food and drinks. A lot of people had outside kitchens that they used for canning and preserving stuff and for cooking in the summer so they didn't heat up the house. I hope to have one eventually.

Love the explorations! So fun to see the old history. You should never pick up a gun though without gloves and never point it at anyone. It could go off accidentally even if it's rusted. And that would be a horrible tragedy! Keep up the fun and the exploring though! Thanks! Barbara

this old place reminds me of a patchwork quilt, well used and well loved. the walls have been covered time and time again by all the old wallpaper to give it more character and charm. this is what brought the quilt to mind. it was hard to cover those horsehair plaster walls. nothing stuck to them for very long. the walls put me in mind of the lumpy bumpy back roads you have to travel to get to the older treasures like this house !!!

The lamp hanging from the beam was called a hurricane lamp, worked on paraffin, you had to pump it like a primus stove. The lighting element was a mantle. I reckon the gun was possibly a bolt action 4.10 shot gun.The pram was more likely fifties or sixties rather than Victorian.

I would be So claustrophobic! I don't know who that kid is with you, but he obviously has no concept of firearm safety! I don't care how rusted a firearm may look, you never ever point it in the direction of anyone! Even if it were to the side of you! That upset me and he needs to be told how dangerous and disastrous that could have been! If I were you in that situation, I would have been all over his ass about it! Sorry for the language, this is how upset I am. In all likelihood, it would not have gone off like this time, however it's the percentage that it Could Have that needs to be taken into account here. ALWAYS always error on the side of caution! Look at how bowed the barrel is on the rifle! I hope you guys are smart enough to Not shoot it! It's an extreme possibility that it would blow up on you!

My brother had one of those 'victorian' prams. He was born in 1977. People used to paper the walls before papering back in the day. I can remember moving into a new house and there was paper peeling off. The flooring in that upstairs room was linoleum, it was also used before wall to wall carpets were fashionable. I absolutely love this house. I want to live there! The views from the windows are awesome. Great find guys. I just wish someone would save this little piece of history from decay.

Love, love, love this one! I want to move in. That first out building was a horse stable with the split door and above would be the hay loft so you store hay and straw up there and only have to drop it down into the manger to feed. Funny coz is like the old Irish cottages where had the animals stabled on same wall as house for warmth and as your farm did better that became another people room and built another stable again next to that and on. So could tell when a farm was doing well in Ireland by how many had been built on
