@@ebencipe, unfortunately Tyra is right. There is a rank, but abusing your position is wrong. I know that Kelly is a big time publicist, but I never understood why Tyra thought that she would be good for this show. Not only her attitude, but also the way that she dressed. I know no matter what you look like doesn't mean that you can't do a fantastic job, however, since she's on television where millions, of people, around the world and on a modeling competition show I think that she could have presented herself a little better than she did.
I hated the way the judges were always telling the models that they were in a level below the publicists, photographers, editors, etc. No matter the role you have you must be respectful to everyone.
Adding Kelly Cutrone was the second biggest mistake the show ever made, the first would not be swaying the Jay's to stay. Kelly literally brought nothing to the show and was only brought on to play the villain to help improve Tyra's image after past judges spoke out against her.
I love jay i think it was a mistake too, cutting him off of the show. But yu tsai is pretty much respected photographer too, as far as i know. And he also did a good job actually

Im a little late to the party but, and correct me if im wrong, but didnt the models have to organize and shoot all their shots for their team in a very tight time frame? Wasnt this shoot actually timed?
Team Louise! It’s 2020, and I’m enjoying watching the bullies and narcissistic people absolutely crumble. We’re not tolerating the Kellys of the world anymore.
It's crazy how they went from criticizing Louise saying she did so poorly to then saying she was one of the best AFTER she quit. It just demonstrates that this show is designed to set the models up for drama and make them completely unemployable after the show is done with them. Tyra isn't "looking for the next top model," she's annihilating her competition.
Well that’s a strong opinion! The show defo promotes drama but Tyra doesn’t need to compete with us... I think she started the show to help models. This may have got a little lost during the the what 23 seasons.
i also think that tyra was looking for drama more than actual models, the first cycles were just trash like any reality show from the early 00's, but i think after cycle 9 the show started to become more about fashion and models, but it's that thing: the girls knew what they were signing up to and that their attitudes and what they say were going to be seen and judged by everybody watching.
The funny thing is there is no reason to have a publicist without people. The relationship goes both ways. I had to remind my children's manager of that when they were young actors.
Kelly was so mean tough. I hate when people use their "power" as an excuse to treat others like shit. I mean Kelly just got there because of her education and knowledge of the business but it means nothing if she doesnt have the respect and love of they people she works with. Such a bitter woman.
somehow she did make it to top.. light vs darkness are we talking here.. 50% love negativity. if you're in between like many of us you won't understand how some people got to some position.. there's room for everyone. Whos loud somehow they get to the top
No Kelly got where she was because her husband Ronnie Cutrone was a very successful artist in the 1980s and 1990s. If it wasn't for him being established and connected in New York she would be a nobody. To me she IS a nobody.
I feel like Kelly Cutrone was always very rude to you, no matter what you did, she always found a flaw and definitely played favorites. Hope you're doing well Annaliese!!
I absolutely adored Louise. Her look was amazing and she could have been a front runner in my opinion. I agree a lot of that was definitely made for tv. It was no reason for Kelly to approach her again. A simple don’t do that in set could have worked. I dislike the fact Tyra said a publicist is up here and you’re down here. Respect is earned not given

I personally think that Kelly crossed the line with Louise. Also Tyra should be a mediator in this situation as clearly a model doesn’t get along with Kelly and should find a ground of respect. The same when she always went for you being a Presenter until your last episode. I liked Louise as she was great ! But overall loved this season
I remember even watching that as a kid and knew who the antagonist was, Kelly. Now watching it back, there are so many problems with the show, they did nothing but taking advantage of the models because they’re young women.
In my opinion we can't hold the show to the standard of today. Thank goodness we've come so far... if the show ever came back it would have to be very different.
But she was right. Things probably have changed a bit, but if you’re looking into moving up a highly competitive world like that, sometimes you gotta shut up and obey.
See I could Kelly's point about running across the set because Louise could of tripped over or accidentally knocked something over that cost a lot of money. However Kelly didnt word it very well at and she kept digging at Louise, pushing her to her breaking point. Was really upset with Cat Deeley with this episode as well, you shouldnt just take Kelly's word for what happened just because she's a publisher. Good on Louise for standing up for herself 😊 xx
@@kaylabey well she obvs did need someone to tell her because she could of easily ran into someone or something and could of easily knocked something over. I'm guessing on shoots there are all kinda of hazards like wires from the cameras etc and theres probs extra things around the set as it's a TV show. Kayla Bey they’re also contestants, and Kelly is a judge and authority figure here. She shouldn’t have been rude, but people shouldn’t just do whatever they want without being reprimanded if they’re in the wrong.
The person that annoyed me most in this clip was Cat Deeley. I really didn't like her here. Also, I really wish Louise would of stayed longer. I think she would of gone very far.

This season had strong models i think your place was very well deserved but i think Alisha deserved third place also too bad she quit Alisha . I think the winner was already selected before the finale.
I understand that Louise could have taken what the judges were saying a bit better, but ultimately I'm on her side. Yes, there is a certain hierarchy, but people higher up should treat the people beneath with basic respect, and make sure that the critique they give is fair and constructive, and delivered in a fair way.
It's also telling when Kelly made that video with the girls in the background repeating her words after the episode aired. It just further rubbed salt into the situation with Louise. Someone who is professional would not make a retaliatory video after a situation ever or at the very least months after it had occurred (the show is filmed and edited months before it airs).
Kelly just bullied most of the girls on the show, and then she just played it so it could be a good TV show. I mean, she and Rob totally ruined Leila's chances on winning cycle 19.
If Kelly gets like that with people with high energy, then I wonder how she would had dealt with people like Eva from Cycle 3, Lisa from Cycle 5, Jade from Cycle 6, and Jael from Cycle 8? That would be interesting, even vice versa.

ANTM used to be a decent show, it all went downhill when Twiggy left but got worse after Nigel and the Jays left. It used to be about high fashion, but now it's all about branding. And by the way Annaliese, thank you so much for bringing this up. Recently the media has focused mainly on the black contestants like Dani Evans, and rightfully so, but we seem to forget several white contestants were badly treated, and Louise was one of them. I'm so glad none of the black girls in your season was forced to kiss a racist during a photoshoot like Jaeda though.
Why do you think Alisha and Louise both walked and both said similar things: that they felt like they were losing themselves during the competition. What was so different/dehumanizing about the experience of ANTM, in comparison to BNTM? They both seem like strong people, so it must have been pretty rough for both of them to call it a day. x
@@thwb4661 that's why ANTM is and was the laughing stock of the whole franchise! Tyra has too much of a strong hold on it and made the show crap in terms of Fashion. Most of the other Top Model shows actually turn out REAL Models that work after the show in a very pubic sense ESPECIALLY The Winners! If u win AusNTM Your face will be all over the face, you win ANTM and no one ever sees you again after that last Episode Airs. I've NEVER EVER seen any of the winners "Cover girl ads" ANYWHERE Besides on the show and the one Magazine they won as their Prize for Winning (like seventeen magazine).
I’ve had a little chat with my friend who does runway walks and shoots and sometimes the critic gets to her especially how some people n the fashion industry does not have a filter when it comes to their words and at one point it took a toll on her mental health but I told you no words will be powerful enough to bring you down unless you give it the power too. I just told her “its just another person’s opinion” at the end of the day it shouldn’t affect you as an individual because it’s a business but do the right thing if it takes a toll on you step back and have a breather, I think in any industry you’d be faced with personal criticism over something that should be professionally critiqued. When this episode aired I was about 14 and I thought louis was just overly sensitive but when I was educated about how people cope differently to stressed induced environments. The pressure and stress got to her but kudos to her for puttinng her mental health on the front line rather than staying.

I can't stand Kelly Cutrone. During the ANTM College edition she was extremely rude to Leila especially during the top 3 deliberation. Leila tried to explain the reason why she kept on tripping from the dress they made her wear but she said she didn't wanna hear excuses.

I've just rewatched this cycle as an adult. Honestly Kelly was so unnecessarily rude to not only Louise but all the girls. Her comments were not constructive one bit just mean. Kelly absolutely was rude to Louise and not one of those other judges even gave her a chance to explain.

I would love to watch a video about the music videos from ANTM. “We’ll Mash You Up” is a bop! If you do a Q/A, here are my questions: Was Sophie really as sweet and bubbly as she was portrayed? And was ANTM more stressful than BNTM? As someone who has lived in both the US and the UK, I feel like Brits place more value on personal well-being, while Americans place more value on professional success. I’ve wondered if this is why so many UK girls quit on your cycle, because the judges put you through so much nonsense, and cultural differences led the Brits to think of their mental health.

I love the look of utter shock on Kelly Cutrone’s face when Louise contradicts her! That is a person who has got used to never being refused anything and who abuses her position to ensure that. I detest people like that! Side note. I once power walked (I did not run or even jog) at a restaurant job once because we were critically understaffed and on our busiest hour of the busiest day of the busiest season of the year. My boss dragged me off the floor to reprimand me - not for potentially crashing into someone but for impacting the energy and making diners think I was rushed. Was it valid? Maybe. Was my walking fast to do my job necessary. Definitely. My colleague was also reprimanded for cleaning tables too quickly making it look like he was hurried.

Annaliese Dayes I think the first two or three cycles weren’t, but it certainly got progressively tackier as it went along. Certainly, by this time, it was kinda jumping the shark, before fully doing so when guys finally were introduced
The fact that Kelly made sure that Louise was in the chair getting her hair done & could not run away from her was very telling. When Tyra said You're a model & she's a publicist, Louise should have said, "I'd never hire her to be my publicist because she's unprofessional."
I am actually really proud of Louise being so tough and stood up to Kelly. I can imagine all the models in the show were already going through so much stress. I am living with anxiety disorder, If someone still says rude things to me in this circumstance, I would break down like Louise too. When Kelly Cutrone posted a video mocking Louise, that is seriously inconsiderate and unprofessional of her. Poor Louise....
I am going to admit, I stumbled across your channel purely by accident because like you and so many others, I have been rewatching my favourite ANTM series and I always wondered what was going through your head and the other models' heads when this moment happened. Who the effing hell is Kelly Cutrone anyway? 98% of the whole fashion industry did not even know her. To name a few, Donatella Versace, Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Carolina Herrera, Dries van Noten, Gianvito Rossi, Emilio Pucci, Stephane Rolland, Tom Ford, even Anna Wintour all said on snippets of their interviews that they're not familiar of a 'Kelly Cutrone'. Hell the only who had real worth on that judging panel was Andre Leon Talley.

While I did agree with her about Kelly, she did have an unnecessary attitude towards all of the judges during that panel when they were trying to critique her. Plus she's entering an industry where thick skin is a requirement
OMGGG just finished this season!!!! also am I the only who thinks she 100% did the right thing in leaving because she was losing herself, BUT she should not have gotten to that point. I think there was a different way that could have been handled on both ends. Like you said about respect, Kelly should have respected everyone, its so sad that she didnt, however I do feel that even despite the "hierarchy" of how models and publicists I think because Kelly was an older person she could have respectfully left. Kill 'em with kindness.
I just finished watching this whole season again and you're still my favorite contestant of the season and if not fave overall. I love your attitude it makes you glow. I thought Kelly definately treated you and Louise unfairly but you stayed positive throughout it all.
Shit like that happened all the time basically on ANTM. And by that I mean moments where you just can’t understand why they’re being horrible to the models. They should’ve been held accountable for the way they treated these women and men.
Kelly trying to mess her up right before her shoot...Then messed up her moment on judging. Her photo was amazing, Jay felt so, she kept it professional. Ugh. Bravo for telling Kelly off, she's an example of a person getting power and abusing it. Edit: Jeez O'petes. I forgot about the gaslighting after she left the panel. They ripped her apart, insulted her photo and her before, but after she left said "oh we loved it!", "I was going to eat her rudeness (convenient to say after she had clearly brought it up already, not just 'eating' it) and compliment her photo", "Louise needs to learn some life lessons", etc. Maybe Kelly wanted to eat her soul instead, and was mad she said 'sorry, Kelly, no shoes, no *soul*, no service for you". 👍 Louise *DID* learn a very valuable life lesson that day, how to walk away from severe abuse and abusive people. With no regrets. Bravo on her. ❤️. I'm happy she moved on with her career and life so easily after.
They tried to gaslight this poor woman and it's painfully obvious watching. Kelly antagonizing her while she's preparing to shoot, playing the victim on the panel, even the way the cameras filmed Louise from a distance outside as if she was irate and hostile. They should all be ashamed, that is mental and emotional abuse.

Louise handled it better than I would've, I'll say that. I've been in similar situations with authority figures and I have noticed they do it to intimidate and control. Take away their leverage and they're lost.

For someone who was there and witnessed the drama, I thought you would have more to say. Majority of this recap is you just rewatching what we already saw.
You know with happened on one day nearly 10 years ago right? Then that day was then followed by at least 60 other days of madness.... whole thing is a blur.... understandably!
