ANTMoment #40: Tyra Forgets Nicole (ANTM3) In one of the most shocking eliminations, Tyrazilla eliminates Nicole because she (questionably) forgets to call her name at judging.
@@alcatelpixie9431 They wanted her gone because she didn't make for interesting television (the camera was like... never on her) but she was low-key doing great in most of the challenges so they had to come up with an excuse, and so they had to act like she wasn't memorable.
It's disturbing when Tyra's all like "Show your personality" to girls that's not super outgoing! Not everybody is super outgoing, that doesn't mean you don't have a personality like what?
I feel like Tyra has tried to shame girls when they don't act/react how she wants them to. It's pretty horrifying really. I don't think she's a solid role model.

Yeah they had to make up some reason to get rid of her since the other girls were more caddy and juvenile. They just thought about their ratings. Or Tyra's just an asshole. It's one of the two.

Models don't have to be extremely outspoken and loud. Shy girls can be beautiful and they can model well regardless of their inwardness. This was obviously a ploy. It's pathetic.
I like people like Nicole. I like ppl who aren't in your face right from the get go. She picks her friends like she picks her fruit..like Erykah Badu would say
That was so planed and Tyra is a bad actor "Oh Nicole I didn't see you back there.... now you're gonna get eliminated. We just needed a reason to get rid of you even though you're gorgeous and have a strong portfolio. Bye!". Bitch please, I'm still mad about this elimination 10 years later lol!
David Ornelas one thing I always thought about this and other cycles, was that anyone who was prettier than Tyra was sent home. And the ugly girls stay.
I think they eliminated her because Tyra forgot her so as a save she was just like "oh your not memorable" JUST BECAUSE YOU FORGOT HER DOSNT MEAN SHES NOT MEMORABLE!!!!!!!!
Being forgotten is the worst, I know people don't do it on purpose but it used to happen to me a lot. I was a little insecure in high school, I was okay with everyone but no ones 'best friend' I wasn't the best student but wasn't the worst either so I went unnoticed a lot. Like someone made groups and forgot me, we went on a schooltrip and no one noticed I was still in the bathroom before leaving. Even my family often forgot me. It felt horrible. Now I know that you can be a leader and give your opinion without being rude, people now look at me to make the groups instead of being forgotten.
I agree with a lot of the people here saying it was staged. Nicole was doing pretty well in the competition, but the other girls had more drama amongst them. So they had to invent some contrived reason to get rid of her and keep their precious ratings.
you're probably right, but whoever stays and whoever goes is ultimately up to the big executives. Tyra is just the show man and yeah she's the host and she's one of the producers, but there are people who have more power over the show than she does. Also including the brands that are sponsoring the show and who they want and what they're looking for
SO SICK of Tyra cutting people because hey "don't have a personality." Being quiet and reserved still is a personality. So many people have got that edit- Nicole, Mollie sue, Katarzyna, Lauren Brie... All some of my favorites.
London Robinson and all some of the most successful outside of the competition. They are actual models. A lot of the “personality” girls only stick around because it’s a reality show first, modeling second.
Funny how some people make fun of others because they have accent or non perfect knowledge of the language when the person herself actually can't speak another language at all.
When it's the translator's JOB to speak a language well, she better be able to do it. However, who knows: maybe this one was paid nothing and got to come along to the US from Japan for free or something
I would normally agree with this, but this time that argument is kind of... dumb lol. The translator's JOB is to MAKE SURE THAT WHAT IS BEING SAID IS UNDERSTOOD BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T SPEAK THAT LANGUAGE.
That's not the point, the point is that she was doing her job very poorly. As a translator, you are supposed to translate well so that both people you are translating for can UNDERSTAND you. You wouldn't have a British English speaking person translating Japanese to a Japanese person poorly now, would you? Some people are too sensitive and fail to understand logic. If she was speaking normally that way without the job, then I understand. But no, that's her job so she did a shit job.

God, you have no idea how many times I got the 'and how do you spell that?' question when it came to my surname. 'Like the soup.' 'Oh! Okay! With a 'P' okay, I get it!' It gets really annoying.
I have worked in fashion and I know for a fact that models who are crazy and like 'wooooo' all the time are just kinda annoying for photographers, Kate Moss for example just does her job she can actually come across as shy and reserved but she does her job and kills it everytime thats what photographers want somebody that is professional and does their job. Crazy girls are usually not the girls who get booked over and over and I think its ridiculous to suggest that this is how you need to act to make it in the industry.
Yeees. It is so rude to have loud people in the room it takes away the concentration. More serious ans professional people are the go-to. Just look at tje catwalks how bored they look, you have to be bold but serious
It's so obvious that Tyra pretended to forget Nicole and i really can't stand this. Nicole made better photos than Ann Norelle and Eva (in my opinion), she was always smiling and happy, but what about Ann?? she was a joke! she didn't do a single good photo not even by mistake! and what did she do for being memorable? nothing, in front of the judges she was always scared and silent. I think "Eva the diva" won just because of her personality and i'm so disappointed about Nicole story..
I still believe Eva deserved to win; especially because how she was treated her entire life, but Nicole definitely should have been in the competition longer than she was.
Uh. I remember watching this when it first aired. I was furious. Nicole was one of my favourites and I always hated the "requirement" to have a bubbly personality. Same thing with Jenah in cycle 9.
Rude! :/ I want to be a part of the modelling but not like that. Tyra is not only wiping her out with forgetting her on purpose! (Excuse my English.) But seriously that is not respectful for a young woman who clearly had a lot of good photos.
If this was a TRUE modeling competition, nicole wouldn’t have gotten eliminated and ann would have been booted long before she actually was. Nicole acted professionally in front of panel and acted like her true self at home. Which is how it should be. I’m assuming that the first time she was forgotten was an actual mistake but the producers saw it and where like “yeah lets have everyone keep forgetting nicole and that will justify as a reason to eliminate her!”
True. I'm glad someone else can relate to me lol. Sterling Glissman I've always felt like it was a bad thing or that there was something wrong with me for it. but i guess now that i know I'm not the only one going through it that its not my fault at all. its a real struggle being misunderstood & forgotten like this. sorry you have to go through it too tho :/
sweetXsweet2009 Those feelings are normal! I go through them too. Some of us do. But instead of just focusing on the things we cant do, we have to focus on the things we can do! Our lives will be much better like that c:
Nicole is consistent and have a decent photos. She is great and honestly I love her photos and performances. They did that on purpose just to show that ANTM is all about personality and for ratings instead of looking for a good and actual girl who perform good from week to week. It's reality show finding for a drama and fight for ratings. Sadly she ended up going home despite an actual good model in the show.
Nicole had THE look, she would’ve been perfect for John Galliano Christian Dior shows(see her tarantula photo) the red hair, the perfect eyebrows, bone structure, her face was perfect for all kinds of makeup looks, natural or extreme
"No personality" or "personality fading away" is ANTM code for "we already decided this girl isn't going to win, but she's not a bitch and her photos aren't awful, so we have to invent a reason to cut her."
Tyra is so mean to these girls. And it’s even worse, bc she pretends to have their best interests in mind and wants them to trust her completely. She is a psycho. That laugh when she “forgot” Nicole... so intentional, like a mean girl in high school who bumps you in the hall, or drops your papers on the floor. “Oops sorry!” Evil dude 😂
Tyra is insanely shady. Of course she did that on purpose. It's possible it wasn't on purpose at the acting challenge, but that kind of thing happens all the time if you don't look at your notes when reading off your critiques. Nicole had a strong portfolio, was good at the acting challenge, and actually did just fine with the Japanese even though it was an insane thing to expect from someone. Sorry, but I think she's memorable. Also, her tarantula photoshoot was FIRE.
i don’t understand why tyra tells the girls that are quiet that they need more personality, but the loud ones get in trouble too. you have to be obedient, but not too quiet?
Could you imagine the pain of "It's not that you're mean, disrespectful, or lacking passion..you're just not someone anyone can remember. Now go home and be forgotten." bruh.
