Curtis Benzle is a ceramic artist, professor emeritus at Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus Ohio and an online instructor at TeachinArt school of art. Curt has presented in-person workshops in Europe and the USA and has been featured in several international ceramic magazines like NEUE KERAMIC in Europe and Ceramics Monthly in America.
He is the President of the Alabama Craft Council and presenter of the Colored Clay online class that shows potters how to do Neriage, Nerikomi, layering and more colored porcelain techniques. Curt uses 20 years of research and business experience to teach artists how to make a good living with his AAMAL e-course.
Antoinette Badenhorst is a porcelain artist and co-owner of TeachinArt.

Thank you Antoinette for sharing this outstanding conversation about Mr. Benzle's art, his philosophies, his learning paths, and his world view as an artist and teacher. I LOVE his views on teaching and how critical it is to prepare students for success in the world both as an artist but also as a business manager- reminding me a little of "To Sir With Love". Our education is really just one of many steps in learning throughout life and as I approach the 2nd 1/2 of life as a working artist, I'm grateful to have discovered his work, this class and these perspectives. His work with porcelain using the translucency to merge his painting and love of color and glass is inspiring. A beautiful convergence of sensitivity to beauty in so many ways. Thank you again for an outstanding interview.
