Antonín Dvořák: Requiem 

Perfect songs to read the subjective forms of the clouds and to follow with a tender eye the grooves of the stems of the trees; appreciate the complex writing of the nested branches, taste the colors of the decomposition of light into water droplets in a garden, and strongly feel the wet soil of ancestral forest to perceive the traces of animals from deep past 🍍🌴

Dvořák was not only a great composer, but also a great man. His music is not only inspired and technically perfect, but also natural, human and hopeful.

We did study it during 2013. This overwelming music joined me in the special time, the diing of my beloved Mom. Three days after her funeral was the concert. So my wife and I sung it for her. - During one of the two concerts, a butterfly flew from one to the other singer and musician. It was November! (You probably know: Butterfly stands for resurection :-) - We had marvelous tubular Bells to the end of second "dies ire" and a the big church-organ. I can tell you: that was blowing the audiences peace away (for a frighten Moment)

Thanks for publishing this splendid version of Dvoraks Requiem. It is an underrated work that deserves more high-quality performances like the one published here. I hope some day I have the opportunity to sing this requiem in some choir.

46:16 9-Offertorium The beginning sounds amazingly delicate.

Antonín Dvořák composed the Requiem at the beginning of his peak creative period. The construction of the Mass is not typical: the composition is divided into two basic parts, each of which begins with the original interconnection of several liturgical sequences. Dvořák inserted between the "Sanctus" and "Agnus Dei" a lyrical "Pie Jesu" movement based on the final text of the "Dies Irae" sequence. The Requiem's basic melodic motif is created by two ascending half-tones with an incorporated very sorrowful diminished third, which begins the piece and continues in many variations as the main motif throughout the whole work.This composition was performed for the first time on 9 October 1891, in Birmingham, England, with the composer conducting.Section I: 1. Yes there are a few passages where Dvorak is not at his best but overall this is a magnificent work and unjustly overshadowed by Verdi. After the extraordinary Berlioz Requiem this is probably my next favourite.

Thanks for the upload. My second favourite Requiem, after Berlioz, and superior IMO to the ever popular Verdi - can't understand why it's not performed more often, maybe a case of "I know what I like and I like what I know" !
