@@ronaldbejarano2236 agreed! RU-vid isn't awful, but the users who are also a RU-vidr of the Classical Music that's a bit awful, not all, but some! I hate it, but one benefit is, I can listen, and I have downloaded the score, and upload them next Christmas, but I will not use this piece by Eberl, but one of his sonata
Anyone know about the quotations? From about 1:50 Eberl suddently turns into Mozart channelling the wedding march from Figaro. Has he lifted a piece popular becasue of the success of that opera, or are both Mozart & Eberl quoting from a piece "Classical period pop"? In fact it's facinating to see the different ways Mozart & Eberl treat the theme (albeit for very differetn purposes)
If Eberl was indeed a student of Mozart himself, he perhaps is quoting from Mozart as homage to his teacher and great composer. Even if he was not a student, he may have still been paying tribute anyway.
The presence of the march at the beginning means that the work was used as a serenade. The musicians would always play a march as they arrived at the house of the honoree.
