Man wario land is another series Nintendo kinda just left which is a shame cause I love them. Happy to see this and pizza Tower are continue the trend of swole greasy men being stupidly athletic and fun to control.

Ever since Yamauchi passed the role as President to Iwata and R&D1 members were split up, their games have been collecting dust. Wario Land and Kid Icarus Somehow Metroid barely clutched it to make a return.

@@rayminishi689 metroid scraped its way back out because Yoshio Sakamoto (despite being a bit of an idiot) would not let Dread die as he's been trying to get it made for every console thats came out since the DS and there was luckily a third party with experience in the metroidvania genre (having literally made 3 castlevania games prior) working with nintendo at the time. Good Feel has made 1 wario game and then transitioned to artstyle-driven games in the kirby and yoshi series' so if Wario Land is to come back I hope its them and I hope its just as crazy as shake it was

Ngl, we did get mario 3d land on the 3ds but it's a bit disappointing that it has nothing to do with the mario land games. No daisy, no tatanga, and no Sarasa land. Just your usual mario and peach gimmick.

@@MrCoconuts64_Lum69 erm bud, mario land 2 didnt have daisy or sarasaland, just tatanga as a world boss in a 3 level area, where one is an autoscroller and one's just the boss so its really only a level and two quarters

Wait, you consider Land to be a spinoff? That's not true, what? Nintendo treats it as part off the main series. Land games are a sub-sub-series of the main platformer series. But to stop focusing on semantics, great. Game looks super fun, glad to have found out about it.

I see it as a Spin-off since it's so disconnected from the main series and I may be wrong about this, but I believe it wasn't made by Nintendo's main team.

There are actually SIX Wario Land games! Everyone forgets about Virtual Boy Wario Land which despite being on a bad console is actually a pretty good game and was one of Gunpei Yokoi's last games. The jumping into the background mechanic in this game was actually originally from VB Wario Land! As far as I know, it was the first platformer to do something like that.

@@Nyah420 Summitsphere confirmed that Metroid Dread was also in inspiration for Antonblast. Wario Land in general was made by Nintendo R and D 1, who worked on Metroid.

out of the history of excape sequences starting back into wario land 4 into antonblast, it's was a short sort of history of escape sequences. the most notable escape sequence is pizza time in pizza tower, and I would definetly recommend checking that game out

Dylan.. when you said wario land. I have huge respect for you now Dylan, being the only spin off series I enjoy from outside of the mainline Mario games. I will definitely check it out once it’s out on steam probably will wait once a summer sale on steam has reached their game.

if you love anton blast then you should try pizza tower. The game is similar in retrospect and is themed on pizza (as the name suggests). It's also based on Wario Land and is a lot of fun

He was actually originally designed to be inspired by Captain Haddock when the first version of Antonball was made as a game jam project. He has become a bit more Wario like though.

personally i didnt like it the level design was a bit confusing and the controls are honestly a bit too fast like the second you hit the charge button you instantly go 0 to 60 in a direction and you hurl yourself off cliffs i also didnt really like the hammer slam its like ducktales and shovel knights pogos but worst
