@MaBu888 I highly recommend Damasio's book "The Feeling of what Happens". It presents the most compelling concept of consciousness that I'm aware of.

Between him and Ramachandran , really beat down the philosophers.

Evi1M4chine. If you are such a" smart ass" do let us have Damasio's definition of emotion - or your own.? . Writers constantly confuse emotions with instincts, drives, moods, attitudes and behavior. They also claim ,although most do not agree entirely with one another as to,which,that there are a large number of discrete "emotions" when, in fact all emotion, as experienced, falls within alternative categories of our perception of threat or promise...
