Why does a person's brain construct neural maps in the way that it does? Why does it select certain elements over others in creating an imaginative entity?
That's why he talked about necessity of emotions in motivation to guide us towards a rewarding path and on that path the unique neural maps are formed.
can someone post the link to that research about vision sound and touch? He says is conducted by Casper Mayer, but I don't find it. May I have a mistake in the name?
OMG - casting pearls before swine! What about the jacket? I couldn't help but notice the shoulder pads suspended from the modest but very important biceps (essential for effective manual communication, of course) - not an ideal situation. Then, there is the resemblance of a lapel which reminds me of a time in the past when I put my spouse's favorite woolen coat into the washing machine with future memories of unhappy separations. My spouse thinks "this is sickness...man wear the shorts with the balls hanging out..." I should mention that she's Russian-Chinese who after listing to Boney M's' Daddy Cool' went into raptures about "My father - he's the Cool Daddy! Back in China, when he was young, six men came into our house to fight with my father. They want to kill he!" Lida gracefully skipped across the room and collapsed into a mermaid pose in the middle of the IKEA lounge..."This is how he was sitting, smoking cigarette - very cool - with a three-bladed weapon hidden behind his back saying, "Come on! Who wants to fight?" Nothing happened! Nobody want to fight he!" Something I really wanted to share with the world as it is.
why on earth can I feel Damasio so boring so abstract and "intellectual", not giving the smallest actual example of his research ?? Usually is such topic so fascinating... His voice does not help... No offence ! just my impression...
The Ross School is a kindergarten for rich kids, aka pay to play education. Look it up. Fra Domasio intends to argue nuances of complex measurement tools, sophisticated methods and far flung conclusions with an audience no doubt made up of Rich Parents who would not abide anyone saying their children were not the creme de la creme of future Nobel Prize winners? How much did they pay for this kiddie lecture?
