Antonio Vivaldi Concerto re minore, RV 540 

Superb performance of a piece I'd never before heard. Expert placement of Constantine's plucked strings in front and also in the middle!

I love this exquisite concerto and did enjoy this idiosyncratic version. Not my favorite one, though. Listening to other performances by different ensambles, sometimes I felt a certain similarity between the third movement and Boccherini's Fandango. In the latter, many performances include castanets, but this is the first time I see this addition, which I liked and felt that added to the rhythmic crescendo of the strings and cembalo. Just as in the formidable Fandango that would follow several decades later.
