The caterpillars of some butterfly species in the family Lycaenidae associate with ants in mostly mutualistic relationships, where ants receive a sugary reward from the caterpillars, and in return the caterpillars get protection against predators. This video describes the relationship between ants and the Miami blue, a critically endangered butterfly found only in the Florida Keys.
