In this video I'll show you guys how to easily propagate one of my favourite aquatic plants. Anubias Barteri is definitely one of the most hardy and easy to keep plants in the Aquarium hobby and although it really is very slow-growing plant, it is very easy to propagate and keeping it is really rewarding. Anyway, hope you guys will enjoy this video and more videos about how to propagate aquatic plants will come soon so stay tuned!

Aaah! The flowering is so beautiful, I can only hope mine bloom some day. Propagation seems a lot easier than I thought it would be, thank you again for the educational post!

Thank you very much for your support :) I am really glad they are flowering all the time... I may try to propagate them via seeds at some point :D maybe if this vid will get 100 likes I'll challenge myself a bit :D

I really appreciated this very well done tutorial and demo! So many tutorials take so much time talking when they could decribe their main points in way less time, so that one 'wade' through 15 minutes to get about 5 minutes of information. Thanks for the great job you did here, it was relaxed, enjoyable, friendly, clearly illustrated, factual, and seemed very well organized, so I got the info I needed without having to fast forward all the time. Keep up the great work!

Can someone tell me. I heard that anubias don't need sand or soil. Will grow in rock or driftwood but here you put in sand. Which one is right
@undersurfacechannel
@undersurfacechannel 2 года назад
@smart guy yes it does not need soil :) you can just grow it on rocks or driftwood without any issue :)

i thought that anubias needs a wood or rock to grow or else they die when dig onto substrate?

I thought you can't put it into the substrate, but I see you did.
@undersurfacechannel
@undersurfacechannel 2 года назад
Well, honestly right now I do not do it anymore, I only attach it to hardscape usually, but back than I used to do it and as you can see it worked 😊 As far as the rhizomes are not burried it will do fine 😊🌱

"Thriving" as its palnted in the substrate
@undersurfacechannel
@undersurfacechannel 4 года назад
@Baney well it was and it can be. The only thing that is not supposed to be buried is rhizome, but planting roots into substrate is fine :)
@exit9b150
@exit9b150 4 года назад
Pat's Fish Tanks that is true but at 0:40 it looks like the whole bottom of the plant including the rhizome is in the substrate

I had a couple that looked like they was dying.I clipped off the dead leaves,and planted them out of water and added just a TINY bit of Flourish aquatic plant fertilizer,and tho it took a month and a half,the plants were revived.

Besides Anubia, Java moss and Java fern which hardy plants can be attached to wood and rocks?
@undersurfacechannel
@undersurfacechannel 4 года назад
@Andressa Akie besides those I am usually also using other types of mosses like Willow moss, Phoenix moss, Christmas moss or Pellia moss :) hope that helps :)

How do you keep new leaf of anubias from not curling sir?
@undersurfacechannel
@undersurfacechannel 3 года назад
@Mei Galz I don't really know correct answer for this, but I guess as Anubias is low lighting plant, too much light or bad water parameters may be a reason for curling of leaves :) if the plant is happy, it will have leaves as in the video :)
