not really hahah he fled when Thor took over the Motherships computer with his mind hahahah.... Thor OVERPOWERED the Ships computer hehehe now thats badass hahaha
Who loved anubis. I love how anubis reflects the god itself. He is the god of the dead and he is part dead and ascended. Plus he rises from the dead as the one to unleash hell upon the system lords. The only goauld that required ancient tech to beat him.
Anubis is one of my favorite villains in general. He's also one of the earliest villains that I remmber growing up yep wait there with Darth Vader. Anubis and Ba'al (Through I'm pretty sure he's everyone's favorite) are some of the reasons I'm a big fan of villains
Sokar was a truely diabolical Goa'uld, also in the literal sense. And he posed as the God of Death on many planets, including Satan on earth. Too bad he was killed of too soon, I'd would have liked to have seen him face off with Anubis. Pun also intended. Two truely evil narcissists 1 on 1.
I don't believe there's another villain this sick (as in "bad-ass") anywhere... not on any other TV show, not in film, and not even in video games. He's dark, melodramatic (but not corny), and extremely competent.
To me the word Stargate will always make me visual Daniel, Jack, Teal'c, Sam, Janet and General Hammond sitting around a table with the Stargate itself in the background visible through a window. What do you visualise for it?
Star Trek has run since 1966, and honestly, at this stage, it needs to be public domain. The greed has just killed it. And Star Wars? Don't even get me started on that... I hear the same thing has happened to Doctor Who, but I'm still on the Second Doctor.
@andre20041997 Eh...SGU is the reason that the entire series is now back to being sorely underrated. Atlantis brought in a Hell of a lot more new viewers who were unfamiliar with the franchise (and kept them). Wright and Mozz decided to shoot off at the mouth about not needing us "loyal fans" to succeed with SGU, implied that we were immature and unintelligent, and when they got cancelled, tried to pull off the mother of all backpedals and blame it on us.
100% with you sir on every point. Was there for every word they said and it sickens me after nearly a decade that Wright is trying to once again get his greasey hands on the Stargate IP.
@@KLamki1 Bumped a 9 year old comment from a time when the comments and replies weren't even neatly in their own sub-threads? Wow. That doesn't happen every day. Yeah, I haven't changed my mind since. If anything, the recent years with all the wokeness and abuse of long-standing franchises by crappy writers and executives tells me that Wright and co. are probably emboldened to try again. They likely think the climate has shifted or if not, that some suckers in the streaming game are willing to underwrite a crappy SG series even if it has consistently bad reviews by a majority of fans. Heck, look at STD for a perfect example.
@@The_Lucent_Archangel Yeah, that's my greatest fears. It would just turn into a LGBT, trans/feminist and race hating extremist agenda. There is enough pod people today to infect it. It's far more likely to be used to push some woke political platform and Brad Wright would definitely throw his towel in for the casual brainwashed normie activists for another attempt at SGU 2.0
Stargate shouldn't return. Hell, all of geek culture is under attack now and surrounded by ever-worsening writing. Look at Star Trek and Star Wars to see what I mean...
TFW a villain from the early 2000s and a different franchise is more of a Sith Lord than any of Disney's hollow one note characters...too bad we can't port him to that universe and give him a red lightsaber....or the Darksaber.
@@unintentionallydramatic You have to convert to being a liberal lefty and be progressive otherwise you're 'privileged'. *And those who are prideful and refuse to bow down to socialism shall be laid low and made unto dust.* Hallowed are they....
@@Jokie155 Says the liberals that want to smear their cancerous political power hungry 💩 on every sci-fi IP they can get their stinking hands on. Good thing MGM already went bankrupt and Stargate is in a coma, otherwise that hack JJ Abrams & Ruin Johnson would defile it like they did to Trek and Wars.
smik4978 baal was so charming, apophis lived to his name: a serpent. Anubis lived to his name plus so fantastic. He played the same game as sg1. He copied the ancients themselves and countered the taurii at every turn.
When i was watching this for the first i wasnt shock the belisner was destroyed. I wasnt worried about the protected planets. I was just stunned when someone said "supreme comander thor has been killed" And at the end of the episode Thor in a coma. I was just sad. Then in a later episode what happened next of how anubis got owned by the asgard
@@stefanmarinov2864 Generally seeing a 13 year old comment here on YT is really strange somehow .. I wonder, if in 13 years from now people will be reading this.
Yeah. Would you post the scene later in that episode where Jack and Teal'c are both in prison, and Teal'c is saying how difficult it would be to escape, and Jack's replies by telling him all they gotta do is this, this, and this, and Teal'c's like, "I stand corrected."? That's one of my all time favorite lines!
Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c standing at the base of the ramp with Hammond and Janet in the control room as the gate activates to show that even tho the show mayb over the adventure still continues
They hadn't revealed what he was by this point in the show and he also never really tried to reveal it after the show did. I think he didn't want the System Lords knowing that he was half-Ascended because then they'd turn on him and he still needed to use them.
I think it is because of his mask.. I always thought that the mask held his "body" together and he didn't need a host to live, but after the battle of Earth he lost his mask and he needed a body to rule and "live"
Remember that every host would fall apart and die. He cannot hold a possession for long as it would be for a demon. That was shown when anubis speaks with baal during the replicator issues. The thing is it reminds me of darth nihilus. He has no body so his spirit is infused within his armor.
Yes, in a sense, Seth could be considered the devil in Egyptian mythology. After all, in Egyptian Mythology, Seth killed his older brother Osiris, cut him up in little pieces and threw him into the Nile. Isis, his sister/wife, found all of Osiris's body parts and reattached them and did some magic incantantion to bring Osiris back to life. Isis and Osiris had a son named Horus, and Horus and his uncle Seth were always going at each other for dominance. Ironic that Anubis is the bad guy here.
I don't think they ever say pasificly how he escaped the planet. The only two options I see is he left the body, waited for the stargate to ativeate and go through it, or possesed another body. The repecators escaped the black hole by using the time dialation divice to conter-act the gravity of something like that.
yeah i knew just about as much that omas helped him assend but like i said i dont know anything else. but like i still dont know how he escaped from being forzen and also how the repilcators escaped being tarped in the timebubble sg1 left them in where 1 second to them= 100 years for or something like that.
remember they were proubly only a few feet away from the divice when it they ativate it, so even with the feild, it woulden't take them long to reach it. As detecting the hole, I'm not really sure. The asguard created it, so mabey that's why, but we both know the pests simply don't seem to know when when to roll over and die
Mabey, they can move fast, but whatever the feild was, the diffence was short enough form them to deativate it in the time they did on the show. I know the feild didn't have the huge diffrence as the Asgard origonaly planed.
can someone explain to me a few things about anubis in the show i mean. frist off what happened to him in the frist place. like why did he disaper and secondly is there an episode that explains how he escaped from being frozen on the planet in lockdown.
Honestly, they should have made Anubis inhumanly tall. It would have made the character alot more creepy and ominous. The fact that he's such a short guy in a cloak makes his "evil-ness" so campy, much like Dark Helmet in Spaceballs.
The Goa'uld just destroyed his Asgard ship, why was he acting surprised they had some technology like the ability to download knowledge? Maybe it was to assault the Goa'uld's Ego to reveal information!
um i see about the repicators i thought they were still only expercing one second compared to us lol. how could they tell the there was a black hole how did they get enough time. unless the black hole made time go all screwy for them or something.
EVariation no never wondered why we never saw Oma Desala or Anubis after ep.171 Threads? its because the two of them are fighting a battle both cant win! it wil last forever! Oma and Anubis wil likley live forever this way
Anubis just lucky. It is a failure Oma Desala signed. Goa'uld Baal is the best of the series. Smarter, more cunning, more realistic and more charismatic. Baal must laugh at the end of Anubis.
I love Daniel, he is by far my favorite, but McKay is the only Atlantis one in my top ten... Granted most of my top ten are SG1 members, plus Hammon and Frasier. Eli is either number ten or eleven. I prefer to say ten because that means their is one from each series.
McKay was awesome; I always hate how bad I sound when I criticise SGA because saying that I think it's the weakest Stargate is like saying that I think Zeus is less glorious than Thor and Ra.
i dont see anubis as EVIL, but i dont think he really cares if he is the most evil goa'uld or not. He is ambitious and the most succesful Goa'uld lord so far. Just as Supremehighmaster said. He is clever and powerful and has gathered hidden technologies and many Goa'uld leaders as his lieutenants. The evil Apophis was just a pain in the ass for enduring so many seasons without dying.
First answear, Omas ascended him to the higher planes forcing him to concentrat all on her and no longer beinf able to affcet the lower plan. Second, there's no epiosode that explains that, would like it though.
@lordxelkor there were ten seasons, they could have made more seasons and went in detail with aall system lords, which tehy should hav ein my opinon and yes it was kinda quickly
@@sebastienrameau It makes the bad guys look farcical ... like the scene in Monty Python's Life of Brian where the Romans keep running in and out of the hideout while stamping their feet.
Where's his face? Is his whole face that swirly thing? 'Cause I see no actual face. Besides, Anubis wasn't really an evil god. Hollywood associates him with evil because he dealt with death. When in actuality, he plays the same role as the Grim Reaper, or the Angel of death, with a few bonus roles. He teaches how to mummify the body, guides them to this "place between places", and judges them on how pure their heart is. He had no intentions of universal domination. He was just doing his job.
CoinWasher remember that he is a goauld. That is why he is evil. Not because he is god of the dead. He is really cool in egyptian myth when he mummifies osiris to preserve his godhood in the land of the dead.
Elijah Medi atlantis was fantastic. The wraith, the destroyer of the ancients. Terrifying aliens and a brand new change into the universe of stargate itself.
@quantum460 This is stargate. Has as much to with the actial myth, as say, a tale about a green tree eyed monster grabbing japanese schoolgirls with tentacles would have to do with christianity.
