For extra hitting force, REDUCE the size, of the hitting ' edge '. The smaller the hammer, the force is increased, by the size reduction, as a ratio of force/size of impact. Using a 2 inch square, hitting force is ALOT more force, with the same stroke of this hammer.

The Anyang hammers are extremely controllable at the low end... you can barely crack an egg... I used to make copper roses where I used thin copper sheets and would texture them with a fullering die on both sides. On my mechanical hammer, I could never get the full control I needed. I was always breaking through the copper. When I got the Anyang hammer, I had total control where I could quickly texture the copper without fear of destroying the piece... and then when I was ready to do thick steel, I did not have to adjust the hammer and could go into full blow forging.
@@stevejohnson4151 oh it's OK not a big deal right now i am not going to get anything until I heal i have had 4 bad brakes in my scull from a horse accident at the nfr. I am new to blacksmithing the brain scull is slow to heal. I live in Terrebonne Oregon that is central Oregon
