Anyone and anybody means the same. Anyone is more formal and is most used in writing. Anyone can learn Spanish. I'm a salesperson and I can sell anything to anyone. An accident like that could happen to anybody.
This is so helpful for me. I have been learning English since I was a teenager but this is the first time I came to know the differences b/w some and any very clearly. It is not only me but I believe there are a lot of people that confused the differences in Japan. I have to recommend this video to Japanese English teachers in Japan.
Thanks a lot . For making the things explicit to all who often get confused about when to use" some and any " while making questions or filling gaps with them.
Hello, a question : Could it be that when you ask: Do you want "some" pizza ? You are expecting a "yes" answer, because you're really offering or interested in acceptation. Independant of the fact that you Know the person is hungry. And when you ask: Do you want "any" pizza?, you don't mind too much about the answer ? Thanks
Thanks a lot, our Super Teacher. This video is a great help for me. Would you like some chocolate cookies? Does somebody need help? I think the answer is yes. Does anyone need help? I dont know the answer. I just got the difference between anyone and somebody. By the way, Rufus was your dog, Mike? 😊😊
I imagine that "anyone" meant any one person while "anybody" meant any body (group) of people, but like some/every/no one/body, it all got lost into what we have today. It's probably wrong, but you can see where I'm coming from on this, right? Kind of like what happened to "literally" becoming another "really"... which I detest BTW.
