Wow. The reception to this video has been incredibly kind. When I uploaded this video I had less than 200 subscribers and would’ve been happy with maybe 100 views. You guys have exploded this, my channel, AND been incredibly kind and supportive along the way. Thank you all, big time, I’m glad ~this~ is the event for all of us to converge over and celebrate.
The algorithm has smiled upon you. Great video! You won another sub. Also, I can’t believe this movie got a sequel! I was pretty old when this came out, so it was a later discovery. I never noticed the Reboot cameos!
@@MrOldskoolgamez it was a complete accident that I discovered them. I was scrubbing through the footage for something else and had turned on Reboot in the background. Eventually the neurons fired. Thank you for the support.
Had seen this movie so many times as a kid like yourself, but never realized the one I saw was a sequel I was way too young to notice the title and criticize the animation. That's awesome to see others had similar media growing up. I even watched butt ugly Martians myself I forget what we had it on I just remember we had a physical copy of some episodes.
Hahha sure. If that tradition was madly turning the channel so I didn't have to see that low-grade unfunny crap! didn't like Shrek back then either. I've changed my mind since then though c: .... Smashmouth can still go self-delete ugh I work at walmart... THEY WONT STOP PLAYING IT!!!!
Can confirm that you just missed Scary Godmother 1, because they DEFINITELY played 1 and Revenge of Jimmy about the same amount. I remember seeing both a TON!
I remember seeing the first one, I didn't see the sequel or know there was a sequel. Or maybe either I did and I just repressed that memory or it just didn't air where I lived or I just missed it when it aired
This is my childhood. As an adult i can see why i tooned in every year to watch it, thank you for reminding me of the little things from when i was young. ❤
Scary Godmother movies, Monster House, ParaNorman, Coraline, Igor, Scooby-Doo (Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Ghoul School), Alvin and the Chipmunks (Werewolf, Frankenstein), and any Tim Burton animations are a must during Halloween season!
I actually bought *the* Scary Godmother book the other week, the artstyle is so unbelievably pretty. I'd gladly let Scary Godmother adopt me she's so cool.
I'm pretty sure you definitely missed the airing of the first one. They would often double-feature them on Saturdays or replay them separately on Fridays. Then there were times where they didn't show them at all some years so they would show new cartoons with Halloween episodes.
I concur, i remember watching both every year, even multiple times when i was growing up. They were as much a staple to halloween in my eyes as how the grinch stole christmas(animated and Jim Carrey version) was to Christmas.
I never cared if the animation was subpar, I always looked forward to watching this special every year for a long, long time. Same with Olive, the Other Reindeer.
Scary Godmother has been one of my must-watch Halloween movies since I was 4 years old, 20 years later and I still get so giddy and excited every time I watch it! 🎃🎇❤️
Scary Godmother was my favorite film as a kid. Partially because I really understood the main character's strife as a younger sibling, but mostly because she liked mushrooms and black olives on her pizza. First and only time I've ever seen that combination mentioned in any media and it's always been my favorite, to the point that I'll order it as a treat when I'm splurging on more than just pepperoni lolol.
I've never heard or seen anyone order that combo on pizza not because it's good or gross but because of its randomness. So what a weird connection lol glad you related to it.
Idk about y’all but I personally love the animation style, it adds character to it, but I’d LOVE to see a stop motion animation version of this as opposed to its book style
god this whole movie is just perfect , thanks for covering it !!! scary godmother doesn't get nearly enough recognition so im mega glad to see it getting some :33
Even if the animation hasn't aged well, scary godmother 1 and 2 are still such fun movies to watch during the halloween season 😄 Such a shame this franchise didn't made more movies, and also a shame that CN stopped airing both movies years ago.
When I was a kid, Halloween was the holiday I loved above all else. The specials on the cartoon channels, getting a costume, running into the woods to find Halloween Town (yes, I was that cringe), and getting candy and trying to hide the good stuff from the dreaded PARENT TAX. That plus the perfect weather makes me love it to this day. And Scary Godmother was like the tolling bells to that season. TL;DR I like Halloween and Scary Godmother
Here's another fun note about the voice acting: The entire Frightside part of the cast is played by just four people, and Scott McNeil plays about half of said characters, namely Skully, Max and the pizza boy skeleton. Garry Chalk, meanwhile, is both Harry and Bugaboo, while Tabitha St. Germain is Scary Godmother and Ruby.
These specials are always what I have in my mind every October since childhood even as a young adult now. It’s a tradition for me alongside Edd, Ed, N Eddy’s Boo-Haw-Haw and Billy and Mandy to watch for that reason.
Yes i do remember this and i think about it every Halloween. This was my favorite Halloween movie as a kid even though i was NEVER a target audience. The janky animation/art style absolutely cracks me up for no reason.
Always blew my mind that Jimmy thought Hannah would be a deterrent against candy collecting, as if cute kids in adorable costumes aren't the best way to get lots of candy!
Mofo, Scary Godmother and Monster House are a Halloween tradition here! Pop those bad boys on the tv, grab a hot bag of popcorn, grab a cold one from the fridge, and a handful of candies we stole from trick o treaters & we are having a great night 😂
They bring it back on CN around Halloween usually. Mightve been a couple years but they played it at least once since 2020 was wierd seeing it play again
I will always remember scary godmother! From its comic book origins, to the awesome Mainframe animated specials! it's a beloved treat! I love Scott McNeil playing the skeleton and Dracula! It was always a joy watching it with my nieces and nephews every year back when I was on cartoon network.😢
Yooo, I remember this! Even as a kid I got the sense that I was watching something incredibly crummy, but I found myself developing a fondness for it anyway.
I really liked The Scary Godmother. It was a really fun movie. The characters are all great with their own personalities. Hannah, the Scary Godmother and all the monsters a lot of fun and the party was great. There's more than one lesson in the movie and the both are similar to some other older Halloween specials but still a great movie. I like both parts of the movie. It should be aired on more than one network like they do with certain family specials and Halloween movies
TSG is a movie I have watched every year since I found it as a child. And now, my children watch it every year. Along with Monster House, R.L Stein movies, etc.
When this special came out I was around 13 years old at the time so to me SGM (along with other new shows) was a show of the next generation. As someone who used to hate change I had my biases towards it but it instantly became a favorite and classic of my final years of childhood.
I haven’t thought of this short movie for years. And now I plan to have my kid watch it every October along with the other great October movies. Even if she is just a month old right now
Hell yeah I remember these movies. I remember when Cartoon Network did that whole event with all those Halloween specials, from Billy and Mandy, to ham taro and of course this movie.
Scary godmother, grandma got ran over by reindeer, and olive the other reindeer were the trinity for cartoon network seasonal movies. Thanks for bringing back some memories. That Halloween party song had no business being that good lol
I watched Scary Godmother EVERY year. I always got to catch the first and second too so I wonder why you missed them. I'm 25 and I think about Scary Godmother every year still. Even if I dont watch it now. Its just part of my soul forever.
It's like an acid trip really, but me and my boyfriend had a fun time making fun of it. I personally thought it had some decent jokes for something intended for kids.
I’m gonna expose myself and say I had the weirdest crush on scary godmother as a kid. And that may or may not have been the main reason I watched this every year.
I'm about 23 years old so I remember seeing the first one air every halloween season between 2004 to 2010. The sequel though I only ever remember witnessing like 2-3 times.
I still watch this every halloween i show it to my kids I even did an entire painted scary godmother display for halloween at the school i work at and kids loved jt
