We met up with professional predator caller Levi Johnson for an early December hunt in Nebraska. Check out Levi's go-to calling sequence that works in any state throughout the year.
I have a Primos Alpha Dogg that has an expert hunt from Randy Anderson that has this exact sequence. It plays with pauses in between so all I have to do is let it play. That sequence is by far the most successful one I run too. I also run the sig BDX scope and rangefinder too. I can benefit from greater minds than mine. I can't wait to get out this fall.
Hey man just wanted to say, after listening to your video on the way to our sets.. We set up our first stand, ran your suggested sequence and bam not even 10 minutes in we downed a big female! Good stuff, keep up the great work! 🤘🏽
I hope I understood you correctly. You do a lone howl 2-3 howls , Waite 3 minutes. Do a rabbit distress , call for a few minutes . Waite a few minutes after that and do a coyote pup howl?
Hand-blown rabbit in distress call always worked for me - never failed to bring them within range. The rabbit call sounds a lot like a newborn baby crying. I never tried it when I had young kids, but I wonder if a recording of a crying newborn would interest the 'yotes. I bet it would.
Tried to talk my wife into letting me tie her Havanese-Bichon to a stake and let him whine a little. She didn't talk to me for a week. Still doesn't believe I was kidding.
Hello, @Cabelas Canada I am going to be doing multiple big game hunts this year all over the Canada, Spring Boar in Saskatchewan, Black Bear in BC, Rocky Mountain bighorn in Alberta, Rocky mountain Elk in Alberta, Moose and Caribou in Newfoundland, Alberta Mule / Whitetail, and lots of goose and duck hunting. I am working with Carnivore productions to film and produce the content. As a Canadian who loves hunting and shops at Cabelas all the time I would love to work with you so I can promote your gear and you could feature my hunts on your channel. if you are interested let me know as we are starting our first hunts in the next few weeks.
The problem with these "canned" Fox Pro calls like the Lightning Jack is that in Arizona, every coyote has heard it. I have found that hand calling works best. Everyone callers is different. I can go into an area and call and get a coyote to come in where an e-caller that has been over worked produces nothing. Plus, I get the satisfaction of hand calling rather than just playing some recorded distress call.
