Nice work Brenton AGAIN!! I’m looking to see if Santa can bring me a CB+10 for Christmas. Great review and well organized. Hoping Santa brings it for my podcast. Thanks again mate for the terrific work here. Larry de K7HN
Your seniors moment there added humor to this video ooooops! dummy load saves the day. But all jokes aside, if anyone wishes to purchase a brand new 11 meter type approved radio in Australia today I challenge anyone to tell me where that can be purchased from a retail store with a warranty.!!!!!
Friend recently retired from high level FCC - says that CB is a very low priority, they even expect hobbyists to push the bounds a little. It’s usually when people use the frequencies below CB that they get into government use channels and get a friendly letter from them.
I just want to know does it do 27mhz because I'm always on 35 LSB, my kenwood ts 850s goes on 35 LSB 27.355.00, or do I need to send it to someone to get a programmed in I'm looking for amateur radio for my 4WD, Anytone AT6666 looks good
Just bought one of these for shits and giggles, off Aliexpress 240 USD including shipping. Out of the box. Pretty much bang on frequency. Tweaked The SSB ALC. Easily gives 80w on 11m. Found the receive very sensitive on my example.. The weird thing is If I select clarifier on receive only it transmits bang on the marker. If I select Clarifier on RX/TX 2 O'clock is bang on.. Not my thing. But there are VRs internally to adjust Echo delay and volume.. So the AM Guys can dial that function in... The stock mic is reasonable mic gain, set at 28.. Out of the box a cheap option to get a station running.. 73s 153 AT 888 / HS0ZOU
Have one, a spectacular radio that's pro grade, won't be disappointed. Don't modify perfect out of the box. Use a desktop fan on fall power to be on the safe side.
Do you have the United States program file? Somehow my Anytone AT-6666 frequencies became corrupt, I need the original United States frequencies reinstalled in my radio. Thanks
Just received today - ‘channel selector’ / encoder knob skips and doubles as it is dialed - example - 50,51,51,52,53,55 etc. This does not appear to occur using the microphone’s UP & DN buttons. If I can’t find a fix for this, it’s going back to the manufacturer for refund in a few days. W8GMG
Update - a HAM friend more techy than myself explained the freq. / encoder dial issue is all too common. It is caused by a mismatch between the physical knob and the companion software. As I understand it, it’s like an old time windup watch - the cogs will sometimes skip as they work together, causing time gain or loss. Obviously a flaw in the basic design of the radio, and not bench fixable. I have decided to keep the radio, as the publisher mentioned, it has excellent Rx. I’ve had the Anytone AT-778UV 144/FRS/440 for a while, and it rarely encoder skips.
