I got the IPS sibling thanks to you. really thankful for the review you had on it and i am super happy about it. went from a 800 dollar monitor to that one and I am super happy about it
@@maudopamine4905 I got the first version of the AOC 24G2U. The monitor is amazing, great contrast for IPS, IGZO panel = very little power consumption. Excellent colors and if you are into that, the monitor is extremely bright. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will get the first version of the display.
@@gurra1359 as mentioned above, shouldn't do so. Settings mentioned din this video - other than that, not much more I can help; ultimately I'm not tech support :)
Can confirm, the IPS is much much better. I have literally 2 of them, one broke, I bought the VA, changing it now for the IPS again so I can have 2 again. It's just much much better user experience overall.
Very helpful review, was in a dilemma trying to decide between the LG GL27650f (IPS panel 144 Hz) and AOC C27G2 (VA panel 165 Hz). The AOC is rated to have a higher gamut (120% SRGB) and better contrast (3000:1) but the LG does 150 more nits and has HDR10. Since i game on a ps5 usually with my lights on and watch shows at an angle I think I'll go with the LG.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yes I did. It's just a little out of the budget. The two options I put up are on sale right now. Thanks again your video helped a lot. Subbed.
Hey Chris. So I have an AOC 27G2U monitor, and I was wondering if I can use a hydraulic press on it to make it curved and transform it into the AOC C27G2U model? Can you go try this out? I'm LITERALLY dying to know how it goes.
Thanks for the review, we await your review of the new budget Dell Monitor, S2721DGF 27 1440p 1ms( LG Nano ips panel) 165hz freesync Premium pro, HDR400 400 nits,10bit(8bit+FRC), DP 1.4 (HBR3), just 400 Euro
Depends on your budget; if it's infinite (doesn't need to be), then the Acer XF270HUA and BenQ EX2780Q are my picks. More of a list, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t4OMHOsYlY8.html Thanks for the love too! :)
Can’t decide should I get this one or as you said his sibling 😩😩 The problem is that the 24G2AE (IPS) etc. will be available from March and the C model with the VA panel is ready to pick up
Is response time and input lag of this monitor and c27g1 noticeably or just slightly worse than 24g2u but still very playable? And Btw how is the curve? Is it super immersive or i can just go with 24g2u(flat ips) knowing that im not missing much with the flat panel? I would like to get curved display but if its bad then no no.
I think this one is way better, I switched from flat to curved, and it's no difference, but there is difference between VA and IPS panel. And I wouldn't recommend IPS over VA, for gaming purposes only. Especially competitive gaming. Since it has better contrast than IPS panel too, and VA is faster than IPS. Actually it's sweet spot between TN with bad colors but fast, and IPS good colors but slow. But I personally never saw this one particular IPS panel, myself, so I can't say for sure. Also, consider that C27G2U (VA panel) is one year younger than 27G2U (IPS). It should be better in any way. I am in doubt, myself. Just buying now, and can't decide between these two. Also there is C27G2ZU which is same VA panel but with 240Hz and 0.5ms. Also 35 euros more expensive.
i was thinking of getting the ips one instead of this one, but the store i was getting it from had a 31% sale on the 24g2su/bk. i did have a low budget and never experienced 165 instead of 144 so i chose for this one. do you think its worth? ps: what does "su" in 24g2su/bk stand for?
hey quick question, would the monitor be able to run 165hz? i’m using the hp omen 15 2022 and it has a 2.0 hdmi port with a 165hz display, i am thinking about buying this monitor but i am not sure if it would it be able to run 165hz, because as mentioned, it only has a 1.4 hdmi cable instead of 2.0, thanks
Could you please tell me the difference between the 24g2u and the 24g2ae I can't find a difference other othen the stand (which does not matter since a want a monitor arm)
1- Does support hdr? 2-Freesync premium is it better than Freesync only? 3-Is it support g sync compatible and stable? 4-I have Aoc 24g2 worth the upgrade to this model?
@@TotallydubbedHD 😂 no I was lazy to watch. I watch it right now hmm so not worth to upgrade from Aoc 24g2 144hz enough for me. But does support hdr u didn't talk about it and listed support hdr here www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/cb5d2105
i want to get the ips panel however the va panel is more suited to my preferences being a casual gamer is the ips panel a lot better or is there not much difference in it
Hello! Does this monitor have sharpness settings? Or modes in which the picture becomes sharper? This is a very important option for me! Thanks for the monitor review!
I can't choose between the 24g2u/BK, the C24G2U and the C24G1. I want to use them mostly for gaming and video edeting. All of the monitors look really good. Can you suggest wich one is better?
In this range, what is the best monitor for gaming? Comparing with every brand (asus, benq)? The IPS version of this one? Or would you recommend anything else?
@@TotallydubbedHD Thanks, I'm tempted to buy it. However, I wanted a QHD monitor to be "future proof", is there a QHD 144hz 24" version of the IPS one? Or do you know a monitor that would fit my requirements?

Noobie question. Is there any advantage in using a hdmi 2.0 cable instead of a 1.4 one in this monitor which has a 1.4 port? Like would the extra gbps actually increase the video quality and overdrive performance? Thanks in advance.
this or msi g241 for competetive gaming ? my friend told me that activating the 1ms reduce brightness, all i care about is Colors quality , and performance (1ms) what you thing !
@@ImDrizzle shouldn't be the case, check your GPU settings. I don't own a PS4 however, so can't confirm. If you're still having problems, contact tech support
Hey, there are 2 different versions of the AOC C24G2U. The first is which you have shown in the video with 165Hz,1080p, VA-Panel. But theres also one 24G2U/BK which is flat instead of curved, 144HZ And has an IPS-Panel instead of an VA Panel like that you show in this video. Which one of that both would you recommend and do i have any advantage due to an IPS?
@@timprox1371 Bro I've tried several monitors during that time including the AOC 24G2U/BK but I think it was not bright enough. In the end I chose BENQ EX2510 and its perfect for me.
Is C24G2U better panel than C24G1? Better image quality? I don't care about Hz. I need good quality 24 inch VA panel and there are very few models to choose from. For better color accuracy should I buy G2U or G1 or something else? I need VA because I have also OLED so IPS blacks looks really bad to me now.
hello! i dont know if you're still answering questions, but imma try my luck anyway. My monitor in only running on 144hz, is there any way i can set it to its max settings?
@@TotallydubbedHD im from greece which makes it impossible due to shipping . it will be around 100+ plus . I also subscribed . Thanks for letting me know!
My current ultrawide is a VA panel and while I do love it it just isn't quite capable of the brightness my previous IPS was. I'm looking now for a new monitor to pair with a 3080 and it is going to be a difficult decision.
@@TotallydubbedHD I have this monitor and can’t find the low input lag mode. Is it the overdrive mode or somewhere else? It would really help to know how to activate this. Thanks
@@maxread5234 looks like I replied on my mobile - this monitor doesn't have a low-input lag mode switch. Again, as shown in the OSD section - guess the guy asking must have gotten confused with another monitor.
@@TotallydubbedHD oh okay good to know thx. I know you said that the input lag seems sluggish but I haven’t had any problems with it and I’m a pretty competitive player. Could you give me a brief estimate of the input lag times, say 5-10ms?
Hey man amazing video plz can you answer this i want this monitor but I'm conflicted between C24G2 C24G1 and 24G2. I did watch your 24g2 video but I'm not sure which one is better as i wanted a curved monitor but My requirement is i watch lots of video content like Netflix and play competitive games like fortnite warzone fifa etc. I use both ps4 and pc. Plz help me out which one is the best in terms of color reproduction contrast etc fps input delay etc. Thanks a lot bless you
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but this particular version of monitor is the updated version of the c24g1, also a curved va panel monitor by aoc a couple of years before. That has 4ms of input lag, and so does the ips variant of this monitor, the c24g2u. I would find it hard to believe that the updated version of the c24g1 would have more input lag? Especially considering literally every thing else is the same, apart from the 165hz. Perhaps it is a placebo effect that you think the input lag is lower, as I have this monitor and find no problem with input lag
@@TotallydubbedHD oh okay thanks for clearing that up. So are you saying that the c24g2u curved (in this video) is the same performance as the curved c24g1 input lag wise, but the ips model has different performance? Maybe less input lag?
Hallo, can you tell me your build? I have to buy a new build. Which gpu you use for play good with this monitor? Sorry for my english.. I write from Italy.. :p
i mean good review and all, but i almost didn't understood a thing. what is important for me if i don't want sunlight to obscure the picture on my monitor? or how to reduce its effect.
Lol sorry to hear that. As for what you're asking, you're talking about monitor coating. Almost all monitors have a matte coat, meaning they won't reflect light. This one included.
@@TotallydubbedHD i'm not hardcore into PCs, hardware etc.. but thank you for taking your time to reply me. 😅 think i will definitely buy this monitor since it is on a black friday sale here in Croatia for 1400HRK(185€). + great thing is that the monitor has built in speakers so i can get rid of my old ones so i can make more space on my desk. Hey I have seen your video and the comments about getting this monitor or the 24g2u and you always recommend the 24g2u. But I do not see why if the curved one has va panel which is better in theory than an ips on terms of saturation and more hz. Could you explain me a little bit. Thanks.
I've explained it in this video that the IPS is more responsive and more colours accurate; not really sure what more there is to add. Get the IPS model.
@@TotallydubbedHD Sorry bro I did not saw complete the video at the time I wrote that. @@TotallydubbedHD many thanks for the quick response. I watched your BENQ EX2710 as well, Would you still prefer AOC 27G2 over BENQ EX2710 for console players (PS5). Great reviews BTW.
@@abdullaalseddequi1117 for console gaming, you'll actually benefit from the use of HDR (even though it's basic), at which point the pin-point colour accuracy and input lag of the AOC will be negligent on PS5 vs what it is on PC - hopefully that makes sense? Glad you like my reviews :)
@@TotallydubbedHD update: i found it on a website my friend recommended me for 180 euro including shipping, so I will definitely be getting the IPS model now!

@@TotallydubbedHD i mean its just like warm .... Because before this I used to have 60hz monitor and its feel nothing. Now i switch to 165hz monitor and its feel like warm. Normal?
I have the same problem. All I found about it is that VA panels are simply less sharp and a bit blurry/have ghosting (compared to IPS). Also found some other people with the same issue, only fix seems to be returning it and getting the IPS version. I should have listened to the review instead of cheaping out :/
So the 165hz have more ghosting than the 144hz and this makes the 144hz smoother? I want a good monitor with good response time and do not have that much input lag.
Hope Here are some people who can give me an advise. Should i choose the C24G2AE, the Old C24G1 or the 24G2U (IPS one)? I'm playing casual (some AAA, some "E-Sport" Games, some normal using in Word or Power Point) and want a good Image, for me the black is more important than colours.
