“Having a daughter doesn’t make a decent man, having a wife doesn’t make a decent man.” Great line. Moral courage isn’t measured by the degree to which you live up to heteronormative societal expectations, it’s measured by your character. One of my favorite feminist signs I’ve seen is one which reads “she’s someone’s daughter, wife, mother, sister” with all the words but “she’s someone” crossed out, because being someone is all you need to be to deserve respect.

I have noticed a pattern...some people won’t admit it when they make a mistake. Which brings me to my next point-why would he apologize for something he still thinks he can convince everyone he didn’t do. It’s so much easier today to cast more hatred and doubt on someone else, making that person who cries foul look like a liar, than it is to take the heat of admitting the actual wrong doing and foul they’ve created. We live with a messed up system where true accountability is still lacking depending on one’s status, gender, and bank account. Saddest thing is it’s 2020 and we should be way past this by now.

It shows that freedom comes with responsibility. He's free to say what he wants, but can he handle the consequences of his actions? Yoho didn't make an apology. He rambled on about a wife and daughters - non sequitur. But someman decided it was an apology and accepted it. The apology is owed to aoc, in public, in front of reporters. And if he can't handle that, he should be censured.
