@@brandonmorris3746 normal shiki? I wouldn’t know, since he has his whole condition from mystic eyes of death perception that causes him to feel like he has low energy, and roa stealing energy from him also may play a part. When he winds a round sometimes he says “so tired”, implying that he probably can’t use too much energy
@@Verxx-sc2tl Not only that, she does feel more like an Adoptive Mother. Now that I think of it, we never really got to see Tohno's mother from both Families right? I feel like this is how Aoko's presence to him makes it all the more impactful.
Huh that's interesting shiki seems to have better more efficient body mechanics(better textbook perfect martil art techniques) but aoko seems to use looser harder to predict movements. Like the difference between a Tae Kwon do person vs an Mma stand up fighter. Cool
well shiki comes from a family where many martial arts where though (atleast thats what i remember) and aoko is a magus who can shoot moon beam lasers who just fights a little bit
@@darkcrow125 Shiki doesn't really care about those martial arts. In the visual novels, he was physically inefficient. The reason he fights like this in Melty is so it would be more fun to play as him. Shiki is anemic and doesn't have combat skills, he just has the ability to kill things instantly, and he has an average body that can work fine(aside from anemia). Shiki really isn't anything special; I can guarantee Miyako has better skill than him with martial arts.
@@professionalfangster1510 with his Nanaya blood his fighting skills are unrivalled, its that his anemic body limits it and he cant keep it up for long. Also he would have to regain his Nanaya memories to perform them or be taken over by his previous personality. Melty blood just assumes he can do it whenever
@@Emrystatari What? I didn't know blood made you powerful in Tsukihime. Are the nanayas not just normal humans who hunt supernatural beings? If they have special blood, they are no different from supernatural beings anyway.
@@professionalfangster1510 by blood i meant his bloodline (his lineage), the nanayas are demon hunters who have trained their bodies to the limits that humans can go to. eg they can move so fast they look like they are teleporting and can run on walls. that's why even though he doesn't remember being a nanaya when he gets into a tough situation he does things a normal person cant. the only side effect is all nanayas have bloodlust towards nonhumans which is why he killed arcuied and he feels it towards Akiha in certain situations
The word thing is that Aoko is more likely to have copied Shiki (or Shiki's blood relatives) to get those moves than the other way around, since his killing skills are... MAJOR TSUKIHIME SPOILERS ...subconscious/reflexive usages of his pre-Aoko and pre-amnesia training as the heir to the Nanaya family of killers, if I recall the story correctly.
I kinda doubt Aoko was copying Shiki considering she fights like this Mahoyo, which is well before Shiki was even born in the Remake timeline. Her new launcher is straight up taken from the marionette fight early on in the game.
But that aoko's aerial kick is what is shown when aoko destroy's touko wall of runes in mahoyo, and mahoyo is 10 years before her prime and basically at least 10 years before tsukihime.
In MBAACC F-Nanaya and F-Aoko both have Similar DP where they flip once you got hit though in F-Nanaya's case you have to double press "B" for him to flip.
@@chill7530 That girl bein' Arcueid, The female vampire who revived and after some misunderstandings and many adventures later, She became his love interest, right?
Its funny how her you are better than this, arent you? Feels like shes trying to encourage the person to fight harder and that they still have something in them like a master and teacher would. While Shiki sounds like hes just straight up making fun of the enemy. Its like as if he misunderstood the meaning behind these words of his master or is saying them without knowing that hes sounding condescending. Might be to much interpretation though.
Long reply incoming. Also there's a chance this might be wrong since I have not read the Tsukihime remake. Anyways, Shiki's innate nature is feral and sort of a jerk, basically his Nanaya personality. In fights Shiki does get a bit more aggressive and mean (you can see it in the manga and visual novel). This might be the reason
It's Nanaya techniques but I think they just decided to make some of their moves similar to show their relationship through the game instead of just saying it.
Thanks for sharing! Ya, I think it would be cool to see their similar move to counter like a mirror match! I also really like their unique reaction before and after match.
@@TheBelovedBun I was just trying to make a paradoxical statement since Shiki is like the main guy in Tsukihime and Melty Blood while Aoko is the main girl of Mahoyo which was written in 1996 but wasn’t released until 2012. Which in hindsight falls so flat it plummeted into the Earth and I regret making the comment. 😂

Not exactly. Who Shiki is most involved in depends on what storyline you are playing; this game is part of a spinoff series from a visual novel. Shiki was the protagonist, Arc, Ciel, Akiha, Kohaku, and Hisui were the heroines whose story routes you could follow; though they are grouped into "Near Side" and "Far Side" as Arc and Ciel follow one core premise (exploring the supernatural world of vampires, demons, and such hiding in plain sight) while the other three mostly are part of an only tangentially related direction (the secrets being hidden within the Tohno family and its estate). Aoko is a tertiary character to Tsukihime, she very briefly meets with Shiki as part of his backstory and gave him his enchanted glasses; he considers her an important mentor is his life but she's not around or involved in the present time of the story. But she's a very important and powerful person in the broader scheme of the Type Moon "Nasuverse" collection of IP The more recent remake was just the two Near Side stories, with Ciel's being very heavily rewritten to be more distinct from Arc's. The Far Side routes will be coming in their own remake game soon enough, which we are hoping will include Satsuki, the 6th heroine whose scenario never made into the original game for time and design constraints (but the original Melty Blood series is a continuation of it, oddly enough), finally getting her storyline completed and implemented. Not holding my breath on that part, it's been a meme for 20 years now that she'll never get that route for real. I'll just be happy if they add return her to the roster eventually in this game, she was my main when she was added in Melty Blood ReAct, with her bread and butter combos being linking command grabs into command grabs
Melty Blood Type Lumina is a spinoff of the visual novel Tsukihime. The story is broken out into routes depending on what heroine you choose to be with, but the main story is about vampire hunting (near side routes like Arcuied and Ciel) and the mysteries of the Tohno family (far side routes like Akiha, Kohaku, Hisui). Aoko is the teacher figure that saves Shiki after he's recovering in the hospital after an accident and he finds that he can see lines that when cut allow him to kill anything. Shiki is going through kind of a crisis since no one believes that he can see these lines and they think of him as crazy/a trouble maker, but Aoko believes him and gives him his glasses which suppress his vision along with teaching him the importance of choosing how he uses that power.
@@gtf234 sorry to tell you but OG Melty Blood is a continuation of Arc’s Route, the proof of this is when Shiki reminisces his time with Arcueid and when Miyako has a vision set in the future about Shiki The Killer (which is a scenario directly connected to Arc’s Route). The Satsuki Route should be happening, she appeared alongside Akiha, Hisui and Kohaku in the Teaser.
@@TheMightOfGeburah Nasu wrote in one their anthology publications from 2006 that Melty Blood's scenario was written using events from Satsuki's ending. That doesn't tell us all that much since what that meant only existed in his head, but that MB bizarrely assumes a backstory nobody knows the details of is well established.
