Hey Drongo, very well played, it was a fun game. I’m really impressed how fast you are learning AoM Retold. I'm looking for a rematch 😃 I have to say it feels very different playing against Gaia in AoM Retold then in AoM Titans. In titans myth units were incredibly strong against Gaia, because Gaia didn’t get the cheap heroes and the free heroes through valor. That was why I did go so hard into Minotaurs. But in Retold it’s a completely different situation. This was one of my first games against Gaia, I think I played only two games against Gaia in total, the other one was against Kimo, and he did also go for mass heroes. And yes, I did throw away so many units in those raids and didn't have enough military buildings to spend my resources and retrain my army.
How is retold atlantians different from og that makes it hard for myth units to prevail? Cause I thought Atlantean hero units are expensive to upgrade and have strong counter units based on human factions, which would make them strong against human units
@@aviencloud4239 I really didn’t look in the tech tree for Gaia very much. Maybe the heroes are cheaper now? Or it is because you have now more possibilities to heal them? I really don’t know. But I have seen it in both games I played against Gaia, and I have seen it in some casted games on RU-vid as well. So I think there has to be a change in that regard.
Yeah you are right. This one was my first game against Atlantean. I really underestimated the power of those chieroballistas. Especially the hero ones.
Let me ask you a newbie question: what does it mean to go for a second TC? Is it related to population, is it related to defense, is it related to the economy? I mean, I've never played this game, but why wouldn't you want a second TC? Or is it related to map control?
you build a second tc if you are going to focus on economy to have more villagers if you do it well you will have advantage to advance to heroic age, Hades has advantage doing this because he has the sentinel to protect the new tc in early game.
Nice choice! Gaia is my favorite god too, all these nature staff, lush, trees, healing, caladria.. gaia is lit. They just need to fix gaia lush, as in Retold the lush looks like a plastic instead of greenery 🤷♂🤓
Don't people feel like myth unit counters are way too easily accessible? Watching all the replays it seems like myth unit just dies almost instantly to 1 or 2 hero unit Which is kinda funny in a game based around mythological creatures
In 90% of your titles you say "oh this tactic is so OP OMG ITS UNFAIR" and in the same game the opponent of the "OP tactic" wins like always. Soo yeah its a bit anoying.
Age of Mythology Retold is new, which is exciting and has people looking for games to watch. Also the build diversity and units are a LOT more diverse in this game, making it frankly just way more entertaining than anything AoE 1/2/3/4 could do.
@ConnorCoultrup I get why he’s casting it, he’s hot on the game currently, be nice if he mixed in a game or 2 of AoE, I miss hearing him talk sh!t, he’s a funny dude, I have no interest in AOM.
