Aoshima 1/12 YAMAHA SR400 tracker
About Aoshima Yamaha SR400
My impression of the kit is that it is well made, but just an ordinary kit.
This kit comes with custom parts that can be changed to a tracker type.
Initially, I shortened the travel of the front fork and used separate handlebars to make it look like a cafe racer, but I was worried that using tracker-type parts would ruin the style.
I tried remaking it into a tracker type based on a DEUS custom motorcycle I found on the internet.
The SR400 has its roots in the XT500, so it doesn't feel out of place as an off-road type.
Anyway, the completeness of the SR400's design is amazing.
point of making
(1) Change of handlebar size and shape
(2) Increased front fork travel
(3) Miniaturization of fuel tank (layering of plastic plates)
(4) Single sheet (modeled with putty)
engine and frame
The details of the oil piping, addition of coils, decompression arm, and clutch cable have been improved.
The part where the air filter and battery go is hollow, but I made a bib plate out of aluminum to give it a little more atmosphere.
fuel tank
The genuine parts were too big and the custom parts looked chopper-like, so I made them by layering plastic plates and putty.
It is more accurate and easier to make symmetrical objects by laminating plastic plates than by modeling them with putty.
I pasted the DEUS logo on the fuel tank.
exhaust
Tracker type motorcycle exhausts are often short and compact, but this kit came with a short muffler, so I used that.
Also, since the SR exhaust is thick, I wrapped it in cloth tape to make it look like a thermo bandage.
Replacing spokes
Uses 0.4mm stainless steel spring wire and 0.4mm electric wire sheathing.
The outer diameter of the wire coating is 0.62 mm and 0.7 mm, so it can be made 0.1 mm thinner than metal pipes.
However, since it does not come in silver or gold, it will need to be painted.
stage
I used the garage I made before.
If you build a garage, it will be fun to play alone, so if you're a motorcycle model fan and have the time, energy, stamina, and perseverance, please make one!
Next, I'm thinking of building a Honda motocross motorcycle!
P.S.
The Honda Dream 50 that was up for auction was sold to an overseas person.
Thank you so much!
