aosu solar camera review - C9C 

I have a C9C camera the camera lacks true security features. The first being a 60 second event recording limit even with a 128GB memory card installed and setup to only record locally(not that local or cloud recording should be a factor in limiting the camera to 60 seconds max) imagine it picks up someone hopping your back fence and walking towards your home slowly. He walks around your car oops 60 seconds is up...but most recordings are in the 9 sec to 20 sec range - wish I could return it. I live on a cul-de-sac. The camera picks up motion heading in but no motion heading out. (did someone hit my car and speed off - don't know) what worries me are the motion events not recorded. Also consider where this will be mounted. The distance you go up should be subtracted from motion sensing range. Another feature missing is pre-record and post-record a triggered event and forget about continuous recording. What this does is capture a couple of seconds before the event occurs. A security camera would do this by buffering a few second Their tech support was very frustrating to work with. They don't answer questions completely or at all I have several examples of this . I even sent screenshots with my questions and they just have not answered them. All in the solar panel is great no wires The night vision is very good The lights that can turn on are bright it's got very good battery life however the key security features are missing I can't state how important it is to be able to increase or record an event in its entirety this will leave you very frustrated about getting what happened after that person walked into the motion sensing zone or where did they go they should also have a little bit more information about some of the screens that they have especially the split screen where you have the camera image up top and then another image below it I still have no idea what that is. I had pre-record and was able to set recording length and or post record time in a $29 camera I bought in 2018. It makes a great peephole camera but again you can't depend on it to get the entire event as it unfolds. Missed my return window - which was shorter than other items I have purchased.

I bought it end of December, and have been using it for a week. Ngl I was expecting a much better quality video feed or recording from this "2K" camera. It's not bad, but is very average. As you mentioned the solar isn't adjustable. I also have the C7L model 2K with solar panel, this one provides much better video quality, and has better battery life. It's not a PTZ tho and have ajustable solar panel. That PTZ model (as of writing this message) lack detection zone feature, which the cheaper C7L has. I only go with Aosu for their Google/Alexa integration and SD card option.

Non-adjustable solar panels is a NON-STARTER. This means you've only got a 1/4 chance of your installation being optimal (the southern side of your house). I have 12 solar cameras around our house, and they all have solar panels that can be separated from the camera, or at a minimum, pivot around the mount. I just don't understand this design decision.
