Hussien Ismail it actually went pretty well. The FRQs and calculator multiple choice were fairly easy. Guess I absorbed enough knowledge from class to do well.
I suggest taking BC calculus and if you’re going to take a STEM major then just take calculus again in college. It’s a lot more fundamental and also if you pay attention in class in BC then the classes in college should be a relatively easy GPA boost.
@@miehai444 As long as you have a strong knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry (especially trigonometric functions), and pre-calculus, you should probably be okay (I haven't taken the class yet).
Bc is easy asf cuz the curve is so huge like 66% for a 5 which explains why almost half the people get 5's not to mention that mostly smart kids take it
I’m a sophomore taking algebra 2 and geometry because my city is very underfunded and school is overcrowded :( so I’m taking pre calc junior year and ab calc senior year
+Noah Hinton Don't worry about it! I know the above commenter said AB is a waste and slow but I don't know what he's talking about. my guess is that he's someone who took BC and looks down on AB. If you're good at AB, good for you, you'll rock it and you'll still be taking the hardest math class offered at your school.
You had a teacher for Calc BC? My class was combined with AB and we were always a unit or two ahead of them. The textbook was literally my teacher. Our teacher taught the AB students, not us.
I taught myself real analysis. There are some tips: USE your textbooks. not only notes, draw a lot of graphs, pictures and things. When you don't understand something, search it up on google
this video made me lol. also perfect timing, taking BC this year and the Beasley method sounds interesting. college is already starting for a lot of freshman, when does it start for yale and will you be doing any my life at yale videos??
AB is a really slow course and you have a lot of time to work through the content. I would strongly recommend taking BC, because at least for me I felt it moved at a good pace. BC has 3-4 extra chapters at the end, but that's the only difference.
Hey Josh, I'm wondering if you can give me some advice. I'm a freshman right now taking Algebra 2 and Trig honors. Though, it is very and I would test out of the class but my school will not allow me to as I already tested out of Algebra 1 honors and Geometry honors this year. Do you recommend that I take pre-calc next year or go straight to AP calc AB?
I used Princeton but I found a lot of errors in it. I do not know about the other textbooks, but I strongly recommend Rita Korsunsky’s multiple choice exercise book. It can be found in www.mathboat.com I think? They had really good customer service and the book was super helpful and the questions similar to that of the actual test, you have to buy the solution book though. Then for the free response, you can find them only on collegeboard. Hope that helps! :)
hey, just started school today and taking pre calc as a sophomore, anything specific you think i should really nail this year to make sure i understand next year?
What kind of Calculator did you use for your math exam Josh? The regular new SAT exam that is. Do you reccommend buying a graphing calculator or it's not necessary? Your vids are super helpful. Hope to see you at Yale next year!
I’m starting high school next year and was wondering what your schedule for your high school was . You can do freshmen year if in a hurry or if you’re free, I wanted to know all 4 years because i have dreams to go to MIT
I am taking AB this year but I feel like it's not enough. This is why I want to self study BC and take both exams in the same year( using the free test since they are both on the same day). Is khan academy enough to help me get a 5 in BC or should I buy a review book like barrons
Self studying for BC is a good idea, there really isn't that much of a difference in content. I would definitely pick up a review book to give you some practice.
I have a question, as a junior I’m taking Calc 2/3 dual enrollment. I was thinking about taking Calc BC exam also because I heard it’s similar to Calc 2. What do you think
Im debating whether to sign up for AB or BC next year (my junior year). The problem is that Im already taking 4 other ap classes. How much daily hw fid u get in BC?
Take BC. This year all of my classes were AP and I have gotten plenty of sleep. Take the advice from the dude that made this video and you should be fine. You should know that BC moves at a much faster pace, hence why you need to learn the material quicker. In fact, tomorrow I take the BC AP Test and I feel confident simply because I have done review this past month. As for homework, my teacher was very lenient. He’d only give us a worksheet to finish by Friday.
